View Full Version : "Remaking a Classic" A new DP additon
This weekend the grand opening of the new DP website will be celebrated. Like many of you know the page will consist of playable shockwave games. There have been people signing on board, but we still need more. I would like to thank the following people for making this happen:
Joe
Gamereviewgod
QOF
The first game will be a PONG game. This game is done and just waiting to be uploaded. I have made new options for the game, but I think I will save those for PONG 2. Hopefuly I will have net play running by then.
The next game I'm working on is a Nintendo LCD classic. FIRE!

Gamereviewgod has volunteered his services, but I would like more people to join in. If your interested please post. We need people who can draw backgrounds, sprites and title screens. I really suck at drawing.

Would these backgrounds have to resemble the actual games, or could they just be custom made ones.
I can make some original ones, unless you were looking for original only.

Sweet! Any specific idea or game you need?
Also, does it matter if I were to throw liscensed sprite in there, or should it just be straight backgrounds.

Well I don't want to get in trouble with anyone(I doubt I will), but I'm letting everyone do as they wish. Now that you mention it I would love to have a background for the FIRE! game I'm working on now.
Could you hit me up with some drawings? Let me PM you my email. If your interested.

UPDATE: I built the page but I cannot open the application/game CMTZ sent me. It's a .DCR file, I don't know what it's supposed to open with. If anyone can lend an assist here please do, I emailed CMTZ about this yesterday.
Please stand by.

The game isn't working on Firefox with Mac OSX. It also crashes IE for Mac OSX. I have all the Flash and Shockwave plugins installed. Just to let you know :)
I'm in one of my college labs right now. I have had very little time to be online, but I have about 2 hours right now so I'll try to get everything ready.
I'm done with my second game I will post it up for everyone to see in a couple minutes. The only thing is that you guys will see that I really need help with the sprites and backgrounds. You guys can send my pics and I will look at them and try to put everything that is send to me on the game.
Here is the new game.
http://runnkids.i8.com/DPFIRE.dcr
Copy and paste address onto address bar or else it won't work
Now what I need are a couple of cool backgrounds to go with the game. They can be made with paint, photoshop, or basically anything else. Only one thing, please try to make them jpg before you send them so I won't have to transfer it to another computer to see it.
By the way a good size would be about 5X5 inches. I also need help with the little sprites. The background should include the building and the ambulance. Don't include the little men or the workers. Those are the sprites. You may also include any thing you want (e.g. threes, buildings, clouds, cities anything good.
If you can't post them here please e-mail me at Candiman@gmail.com
Thanks
Cmtz

That's 1000x better than mine.
Both look great. I will place both in the game today.
By the way have you guys been able to play the game?

Your background?
I've added the backgrounds. I will upload them later to Joe so he can place them on the new site this weekend.

@robotroit: After I sent CMTZ the background, I deleted it by mistake, so your just gonna have to wait for the game to be uploaded.
But believe me when I tell you, my is laughably bad, compared to your or not.
Joe said he will upload the games this weekend and set up the site. I'm about to email him the games.

FYI the new game plus the version with the updates are available. I need to hook this into the site somewhere but this is where it will stay:
