Changes between Famicom disk and US NES versions of games. This is for people who don't use a FDS emulator to play games they don't own. PLEASE CORRECT ANY OF MY ERRORS!!
@Legend of Zelda 2
DISK:
-animated water on map screen (believe this wasn't in US version)
-enemy markers on map are little ghost looking things (white=weak, blue=strong, red=faerie)
-LOAD TIMES! WOOOHOOO
-Opening music sounds quite f'ed up (will need to try on rom to make sure it isn't just my disk)
-Triforce=Tryforce (they spelled it correctly in US version, right?)
-No picture of Gannon when you die
-Odd sound effect for death screen
-Strange sound effect for people talking (maybe disk)
CART.:
-still water
-Strong enemy=moblin like thing, weak enemy=gel, faerie=faerie
-Sound effect for people talking sounds like typewriter(???, can't think of good description)
-Shadowy figure of Gannon when you die, as well as him laughing
@Dream Factory Doki Doki Panic (not finished)
DISK:
-Arabian family for main characters
-Must beat game with all characters to get the ending
-Save feature
-No clawgrip/clawglip; fight Mouser (don't know Japanese name) instead
-Mask, not mushroom, blocks
-Grass, POW block, vines: not animated
-Main song that plays in most of the game is somewhat short
-LOAD TIMES~~~!!
-Large mask used to exit levels
-Boring slot machine screen (background is green)
-black grass
CART. (SMB2, SMUSA):
-Mario cast
-grass is reddish
-Grass, POW blocks, vines: animated
-Can't save
-Complete game once to win
-Clawgrip/clawglip is a boss
@Ai senshi Nicol (dunno if I spaced it out correctly):
DISK ONLY!
@Super Mario Brothers
There don't seem to be any differences
More to come!
Also, for anyone with an FDS and Star Tropics, doesn't ST seem like a Famicom disk game? I wonder if it was going to be one but was later cancelled. Play Ai senshi Nicol (or look at screen shots) and you will see what I mean....
