Huh. When you said game cart, I thought you ment cartridge, but it turns out to be an actual cart. Well, It's pretty cool and probably rare, but whoever drew mario drew him kinda goofy.

That's pretty sharp, imho, because the artwork on this cart is "off" enough to make it look quite retro and not so much like a mass-produced item from the mighty Nintendo merchandising juggernaut.

I bought an official NES storage box for $1 at a garage sale last week. Toaster deck and controls go in the top drawer and carts go in the bottom. Thought it would be useful for my small NES collection. Anyway, the problem was that the cart storage drawer is such that the dust jackets are required for the carts to fit in the thing, otherwise they fall out of the framed bottom. WTF? If I had enough dust jackets then I wouldn't need the box. Worst $1 I ever spent on my collection.

But enough about me. Your cart ("cart", not cartridge) is awesome, BTHOTU. Great find.

thanks :)

I also noticed mario looked odd too. I thought maybe someone drew him, but I think that would of been mentioned in the auction :)

I know what you mean on the dust covers, I got a game holder and was like WTF they dont fit, but they all needed dust covers :) luckily I have been buying huge lots of complete games and steal there covers :)

I've got one of those but no idea of the rarity. Nice find. Mine looks exactly like it so no worries on it being painted on by the owners. Enjoy it. It'll make a good addition to your collection

There are actually 2 versions of that cart. I am not to sure what the difference is though. I have seen those a couple of times, but have never seen one in a box. The box is beat up but pretty cool that it came with one. Nice find!

I think Jasoco has one of those.

Pretty cool IMHO.You are correct, sir. I have one. It is very cool.

The same company I believe also made a bigger one. And I think there was a third kind, but I might be wrong. Either way, it's very cool thing to have. I had mine shipped in pieces to make it cheaper and put it together myself.

It totally rocks... I guess. LOL It's a cart on wheels. I just use it for a pseudo-table.

You're slightly luckier as yours has the box. Take some pics when you get it. I'd love to check out the box for this thing. :)

There is indeed at least one more of these - I have it. The cabinet part with Mario on it goes vertically down the left side and there are two shelves on the right side. It's still got those red wire divider things on the bottom, too.

With the box? That's pretty damn cool.

It's just another product from World of Nintendo (I'd love to see someone with a collection of World of Nintendo merchandise), so it's all official (including the painted of Mario) and it's probably not particularly rare. It's still totally awesome, though.

Check out the World of Nintendo catalog inside the January/February 1990 issue of Nintendo Power (volume 10, I think?) if you guys want to see other models of that cart.

I wonder do (or did) Ninty keep alist of all this stuff? that they sold..

Thats a pretty interesting point (i'v just made LOL ) I wonder if they have a huge collection of stuff stored away? X_x I'm sure they'll have all the console stuff stored away (inc) prototypes and consoles that never saw the light of day!

It's crazy to think what ninty might have hidden away....

Imagine the scene in Raiders of the lost ark, at the end of the movie, and there's just thousands of storage crates, in a secret warehouse.. Thats ninty LOL

They Probably have more stuff than area 51 @_@
