If any of you have a Coconuts store around you, they have been having a sale for a while now. Basically you get $5 off when you purchase 2 budget titles, $10 off when you purchase 3 budget titles and if you buy 4 or more budget titles you get $5 off each one. The titles have to be OVER $4.99 and UNDER 19.99, so a $4.99 title doesn't count.

Side note, a couple of months ago I went into a coconuts that had a sign that they just drew up themselves and it didn't specify that the $4.99 titles didn't count. The clerk was so dopey or just didn't care, and was actually about to give me a penny back for every $4.99 title I took. :) Too bad the manager put a stop to it.

Anyway, look around at their titles. I found a bunch of PS1 titles marked at $6.99 and a few of the same titles were also marked at $4.99 and/or $9.99. With the $5 off, it's better to take a title at $6.99 and actually get it for $2 then to take it for $4.99 and not get any discount.

So enough rambling, here's what I got...

$1.99 each for these PS1 games
--------------------------------------------------
Jigsaw Madness
Family Card Games
ATV Racers
XS Airboat Racing
Sorcerer's Maze
Cubix: Robots for Eeveryone
XS Junior League Dodgeball
All Star Racing 2
Duke Nukem: Time to Kill
Rollcage Stage 2
Superstar Dance Club
Spec Ops: Ranger Elite
Wild 9
IHRA Drag Racing
The Italian Job
Virtual Pool 3

$4.99 titles
----------------------------------------
Qix Neo (a horrible game that I hated to pay this much for)
Die Hard Trilogy
Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James
Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness
Eternal Ring (PS2)

After tax, it came to a total of 21 games for $61.76

Good luck hunting!

Damn, looks like I've gotta go there. I've found good PS1 stuff there before (EX: Lunar, Ogre battle, castlevania chronicles for $10 each) so hopefully I'll have more good luck.

At SamGoody (I think it's under the same chain as Coconuts), a few months ago I got 12 PS1 games for 12 cents. Oh, and I think you must have put the Qix Neo comment on the wrong game as I KNOW you don't mean it *cracks knuckles*

Nope they are not owned by the same people. Sun Capital owns Sam Goody and Transword owns FYE, Coconuts, Wherehouse Music and a few other localized chain music stores.

Initally After Wherehouse (a West Coast Chain) went Chap 11 in Feb '03, Sun Capital tried to buy us, that fell thru as they wernt getting what they wanted and they moved to take the Sam Goody chain from Best Buy. Trans-world then swept in and made a move and took the company over when they bought out 111 stores letting the other 34 die, as had the 300 or so other Wherehouse stores did from Liquidation sales to keep the company afloat.

The company has never been able to move games well, usually cause they always showed up late and price drops were never close to being on time with the rest of the gaming community. Take em for what PSOne games you can for a cheap as possible

I got a few games at mine a few weeks ago. Finally found DOOM for GBA. So I was extremely happy that day. The other good one was Qix Neo and Exhibition 3 which at the time was the only one I didn't have. As well as DVD Titanic... just because.
