Is it just me or are people noticing some GC titles in original versions getting hard to find? I'm having a heck of time finding new, sealed version of earlier games like Luigi's Mansion, Super Monkey Ball, Sonic Mega Collection, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and many more (forgotten) in original version.
I was lucky to score original version of Mario Sunshine today, it was the only copy out of 10 PC version at the bottom of the stack, as well as Metroid Prime, even Soul Calibur 2 was moderately difficult to find in original (got one at CC when hunting $5 games).
PC versions are just eye sores when displayed across the side.
Anyone want to share and give tips on hard to find non PC GC games?

Fortunately, my store got in leftover older Soul Calibur II's for Cube. So I bought one. At one point we also got 10 leftover F-Zero GX's just DAYS before it went PC.
Other than that, it seems you have to resort to getting them used. I had to pay $30 for a new copy of Animal Crossing just to get the card and it was PC. It was my first PC game. Sadly. But it was unavoidable. My other is Pac-Man World 2 which is actually better as a PC version.
Other than that, I try to steer clear and it is hard sometimes. If I had to get Metroid Prime (IF I ever do) I'd want the normal. Same with Sunshine, which I can't believe is still fucking $30! $30 is too much. Lower it to $20, THEN I'll bite. But if I can't find them non-PC, then I'll just get them. Because I actually do like the yellow border. It's the Platinum Xbox border I don't like. I'm still pissed my Max Payne is Platinum, and the ONLY Platinum I have. It looks UGLY on my shelf in with the rest.

Does anyone have a list of games that have become PC for the gamecube. I also want to know if Pacman-world 2/pacman vs comes is in a non-players choice version. I don't think so, cause I have never seen one.

Here's how you get the non-PH versions of games:
a. Buy them when they're released (like me)
or
b. Buy a game used from EB online right when it becomes PC. The chances of you getting a PC version are very low it you buy it at the right time.

I have 17 games for my Cube (if I'm counting right), but only one is a PC title (Mario Golf: TT). Some of them I got lucky on, such as my copy of Soul Calibur II. I got it when they started to advertise the PC version for $20 all over, and when I went in to pick it up (at KMart, the only game store here is a GameStop and it just opened), they still had the old regular copies in stock. They still had regular copies of F-Zero GX as well, but I didn't have enough cash for both at the time.
I honestly don't really mind having PC titles. I'm not so concerned with the appearance of the cases (in most cases, the yellow looks fine to me), as I'd rather just play the game. Still, if I can get a regular version instead, I might opt for that, like on Soul Calibur II.
Just a quick question, how many of the PC versions of the games have differences from the original releases? I know that Metroid Prime got a few minor changes that the Japanese and PAL versions had when it became a PC title.

There is a cover change for Wrestlemania X8. Not too long after the cover was released with Stone Cold on the cover, he was arrested for beating on his wife Debra. WWE then pulled him and redid the cover, but ive only seen the redone cover on the PC version which now has The Rock in place of Stone Cold, and so on.

They replaced the NHL 2004 cover also when Dan Heatly got into that terrible accident. I feel bad for Heatly, they just pulled him off it. Ouch.

Ive only actually seen the old cover for the PS2 version of the game. Ive never seen the original cover for either the GCN or XBox version. I dont think that actual covers were released for it. Only pre-order covers.

I have a dan Heatley cover for my gamecube. The accident was before the 04 season started though, so I imagine not many copys got out.

I can't help but resort to my age-old question: why are you only looking for sealed games? Used games are not only cheaper, but much more plentiful in the variety you want (non Players Choice). That said, try older, more off-beat places like independent shops, etc. that may not have sold through their initial stock, and thus didn't need to order as much replenishment.

Sealed? Yes. Same thing with most PSX/PS2 GH titles.
Used? No.
On a side note, a local Wherehouse store still has non-PC sealed copies of Super Mario Sunshine and Starfox Adventures... and I'm guessing it's because they're still priced at $49.99. :eek 2:
EDIT - List removed. The DP online guide is your friend.

OK, I came up with this list here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=391258#391258), I'm looking for 4 GC games in non-PC version, if anyone sees any of the 4 games mentioned locally new and sealed, LMK and send me a PM.
Now, the other way around, which PC games will be rare in the future? On Dreamcast for example, Power Stone and Marvel vs Capcom in Sega All-Star are absolutely impossible to find in sealed/new condition nowadays.[/url]

Okay, this is the exacct kind of thread that proves that no one bothers to read the Online Rarity Guide.
I spend a lot of time continuously updating the Gamecube section of the Guide to include all of the oddities and Player's Choice games for the Cube.
For a thread like this to start, and have inaccurate/incomplete information, without even referencing the Guide on THIS VERY SITE...
Very frustrating.
So I'll say it for anyone reading the thread:
With the exception of a couple of new additions to the Player's Choice library (Tony Hawk's Underground, Viewtiful Joe, True Crime and Super MOnkey Ball 2), EVERY Player's Choice title is identified in the Guide.
If you have any questions, please email me.
I almost feel like I'm wasting my time when I see a thread like this, and no one even references the Guide.
Sorry for bitching, but you would think that this would be obvious.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2
Rayman 3
And here's some stuff I've seen that was left out of the list:
Disney Sports Soccer
These titles are NOT Player's Choice releases. Confirmed.

Blame the listing of Disney Sports Soccer on the people that make the decisions at Game Crazy. A while ago, I saw a rack of Player's Choice titles. Each one had a little yellow tag that read "Player's Choice" and a price under the game. A non-PC Disney Sports Soccer was in the rack, with the yellow tag, marked at $29.99. I thought maybe the store hadn't gotten PC versions in stock yet.
Last week, at the same Game Crazy, I saw The Hobbit on that same rack, priced at $19.99. I thought about how I've seen that game on clearance in several places. There was no way that could be a PC title!
Then it hit me.
So let's just say that posting that Disney Sports Soccer was a PC release, based on seeing it on display with PC titles at Game Crazy, was not exactly one of my brightest moments on this board. :frustrated:
As for Dave Mirra and Rayman 3, blame it on copy and paste, and hitting the submit button before thinking. :embarrassed:
I apologize for any frustration my post has caused, and I have removed the entire list from my post. Personally, I haven't checked for Gamecube stuff in the rarity guide because I didn't expect to find information on anything newer than PSX/N64 on it. That may be why others haven't checked it.
As for myself, I know better now.
