O_O

Bought a Sega CD Model 1 with the CD on the bottom, had both Power supplies.
Hooked up and powered on, heard a little grinding with the CD "accessing", but couldn't get the CD to open up. Finally, hit the Reset button and the CD opened- had an old CD game in it. Now, however, when I try to use this CD or any another Sega game CD or even a music CD, the door closes for about 5 seconds, it blinks "accessing", then kicks open the door again- and it then stays open. It continually does this...
I had another SEGA unit which I plugged in also (with a clean connector) and it does the same thing. Both units without the CD bottom work OK.
Anybody have any ideas?

Well, took it apart and appears that the CD is not spinning, the motor is not engaging. So I fear it's toast, although I will continue to tear it down tonight...
Bought it cheap, so what the heck!

It could be that the laser doesn't 'see' anything, and therefore no spin. Make sure the emitter (eye) is clean. there are some posts opn the laser assembly somewhere. You could take a mter and incrementally decrease resistance to the laser, and you may luck out. If it can see, it may spin.

Then again, the transport could be dead. You've got little to lose by trying the above.

Good Luck.
