Yeah i can agree with that. LOL The first two levels were a snap for me also. Though from the second part of 3 up it gets a little to hectic. Just wait to you get to the last level. @_@

Forget the last level -- the 'Flaming Wheel of Death' you face all through Stage 4 is STILL enough to give me fits!

This game was best time I ever played while being frustrated near to the point of tears... :)

Once you train your mind to sort out the different colors, I dont think it is as hard as some other similar games...

Well I'm proud of myself for beating Mars Matrix on just a few continues. So is it harder then Mars?

well all shooter tend to be hard for me but Ikaruga gets real difficult when the screen is full of two different colored bullets and you have to filp back and forth to protect/absorb the bullets. it can be real tricky and not a standard shooter by any means

Oh-so-hard, but never unfair. ;)
I've had it since the DC version launched and I *still* can't get past level 3 on one credit :)
I should have another crack though, it's been gathering dust for the last few months....

Personally I think Ikaruga has a damn near perfect difficulty level.
I just got R-type Final, and keep mysteriously dying ALL OVER the place, I think the ship models have some stray pixels, or bad collision detection. THAT game has some cheap friggin shots in it. Ikaruga, the only times I died were flat out my fault.

Werd.

That thing sucks.

I will say this, I may be less enamoured of Iky than most, but I think it's a very fair game. Hard as hell, yes. But never once did I feel I received a cheap shot or unearned death.

(And I still wanna know if anyone has one-credited/one-lifed it as a "bullet eater." That would be insane.)

They got some dvd of a guy from japan playing the game to perfection. I never seen it myself but from what i hear he doesn't even get killed once in multiable plays. @_@
