I think I went a little high, but dang it I want all the boxes :)

What do you guys think did I do ok on the lot of 30 boxes??

I usually try not to spend more than 4 bucks a goxed game, and thse were just boxes... but there are some nice ones, pirates, FF, RC pro am II, and others.

ouch, that hurts! i've never heard of a good price guide for NES game boxes but there are a lot better ways to spend $90 on your collection than that.

I understand the appeal of wanting a boxed or better yet complete games in your collection, but this seems a little pricy for what you got... Out of curiousity is the bulk of your collection boxed? I mean I like boxed games as much as the next guy buy picking up 30 or so boxes for say my largely unboxed nes collection would be a drop in the bucket, personally I think the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Well game collecting is still very new if you are compare it to other collecting hobbies like cards. So I think the true value of our collections have yet to be relized. By today's standards that much for some boxes might be a bit high but as game collecting gets more popular who knows that could be a steal if you can complete all those boxes. At this point in time I say collect what intrest you and put you own value on it.

Wow now thats a bid war. I've never seen a box auction go that high.

On the high side, but worth it. It's tough to find boxes for rarer games, and some of those (Lolo 2, for one) aren't easy to come by.

NES games double in price complete, minimum.

Yeah he mentioned something about them being on display at a game store he used to work at.

High priced? Kinda but if it's worth it to you(the buyer), then it's all good.
Congrats man.

I knew I over paid a bit, that guy put in that bid for 80 in the last second and bumped me up.

I really have stopped collecting for all systems except the NES, I would say I have near 200 boxed / Complete Games, some rares like Maxi 15 sealed, & Cheetahmen II.

I usually dont spend that kind of oney one boxes, I try to spend that on complete game lots, but this had some nice looking stuff and had good resale value on the extras I am getting.

Here are a few recent auctions I won at better prices...

I think you did alright on that box lot. condition is important in NES boxes, finding mint ones is very tough.

If you have any you want to trade let me know, I have a bunch of NES books and boxes left from when I buy up lots.

I think it was a good deal considering the rares, super dodge ball, kid icarus, final fantasy, pirates, lolo 2 , mad max

I am an NES box freak. I am always watching nes box auctions and I think I even recognize your name from other ones. I'm hellvin1234. I have seen box auctions go incredibly high. I guess it's just the fact they're so sought after. Personally I think you overpayed a bit. Not that the auction would have gone any lower, cause it wouldn't have, but I would have just skipped out on it and bought something else. My personal opinon. But in the end all that matters is that you're happy with what ya got. It's a damn nice lot of boxes and I myself have overpayed for nes boxes/manuals many times so I can say you won't regret it.

I'd say it was worth it, but that's the absolute upperbound on those. If all those were common boxes, then you would have gotten hosed.

I don't think it's a bad deal. Could have been worse, I guess.

yeah, I was gonna only put 70 on them because I thought that would of been a good deal, but I put 90 so a sniper wouldnt get me in the last second, he would of beat me if I went with the 70, and I wanted those boxes so I am happy, a few bucks broker but happy :)

Thats a fairly decent price for those games mainly because you have some good top dollar/rarish ones. You also got some fairly decent manuals too. Maybe a touch too high but not horrible.

@TheRedEye- LOL ROFL Now thats some random crap.

i think it was a little high, but as you said, your collecting NES right now, so if that is your main focal point, then i see nothing wrong with spending that much on something that will be a good addition to your collection.

Norm Peterson... umm... yeah not sure why he's in the thread though. Normally people photoshop the joke onto the picture to help you understand when you're being made fun of.
