For about the past year I have been on collecting hiatus. I got the odd title hear or there, but I really just went to EB to get a new game I know I really wanted and that was about it.

Then I went to the flea market on saturday and started hunting for games. Something I hadn't done in a long time. I only bought two games, but getting Flintstones: Suprise at Dino Peak for 5 bucks reminded me of the thrill of finding something you know is worth way more then you payed for it.

So I can happily say that I have regained my love of collecting and will probably be back post game loving stuff.

Yeah, I remember after a few years of not buying any Genesis games, I walked into a Funcoland one day, and saw the Genesis display. Something seemed awaken in me, and I went over and grabbed a copy of Ristar. Just feeling that cart in my hand, just made me want to go and grab 10 more. I settled for Streets of Rage. After I came home, my brother had asked me why I had gotten some older Genesis games. He had already taken the Genesis out of the closet and set up it up again a few days before, admitting he started to miss it. As soon as we turned it on, I realized i'd rather buy older games again, and started refilling my collection.

It was never a originally there for me at first... I mean i liked video games, i had all the Nintendo systems since the 8 bit. But i never collected them, because as soon as they got old, i traded them in for the new system. Now I look back, and i realize that i should just keep all my games, and never trade them in? It wasn't worth it...besides, i have all my old systems back, plus ones i never owned before (Genesis, Dreamcast) So yeah, i just love collecting now, though the girlfriend is putting a pinch on my wallet, so no new games for me...

Ah, the ZEN of the gaming community.

One leaves, one enters. One leaves then returns. It's all a perfect balance of ying and yang isn't it?

No, I have no idea what I'm talking about either. But I'm glad to hear you're getting back into it, Brandon. :D
