I started to collect Snes PAL games recently , but a friend of mine told me it wasn't worth it because the best RPG's (which are what i'm currently looking for) didn't made it to PAL.

So i was wondering if that's true....does anyone knows if any of these have PAL versions:
-Earthbound
-Final Fantasy II and III
-Super Mario RPG
-Terranigma

Thanks for any help.

Hey there! None of the games mentioned above made it to PAL...Except Terranigma! Which as far as I know only got a PAL and Japanese release. All of those games can cost quite a wee bit though - so start saving :)

BTW: Secret of Mana got a PAL and NTSC release but, as far as I know, the PAL one is worth more (read costs more!)

The European/Asutrailia TV display standard. USA and Japan are NTSC.

I'm actually looking for a few PAL-version games myself... I already have a couple, but I prefer complete copies. I'm mainly looking for Breath of Fire 1 & 2, the Final Fantasy 3 homebrew (I can show you pics if you want to see what it looks like), Illusion of Time (already have this one in the Australian form, but want it complete), Lufia, Mystic Quest Legend, Secret of Mana, the Secret of Mana 2 homebrew (I also have a pic for this one), and both versions of Terranigma (UK & Australian).

Those two homebrews were made by a German guy called 'd4s' who is a member of these forums. Do a search or PM him for details on how to get one.

I don't think there's a PAL version of Breath of Fire, and Lufia II was released as Lufia in the PAL-regions. And why do you want the UK and Australian version of Terranigma. I doubt there's differences between the two except country code.

Are you sure there isn't a PAL version of the first Breath of Fire? I remember seeing one on eBay some time ago (in the region of 6-8 months; sold for about $95 US complete)... Why I want the 2 versions of Terranigma is that they have different-colored labels, boxes, and manuals (UK is black, Australian is light pink). They both play on any PAL version SNES (which I already have).

Sure...let's see here...

This pic I pulled from an eBay auction about a year ago...the selling price was around $220 US.

This pic was also pulled from an eBay auction, but this was MUCH more recent (try 1-2 weeks ago). Its selling price approached $400 US (to be more exact, the price was £215).

That FF3 cart is so poorly done, it is funny.

If you want to see how to make the Secret of Mana 2 cart, you should go to Dforce's site at:

breath of fire made it over here (australia) there are a few, but i am very disapointed mario RPG didnt. anyway it has probably been on here before, but what does everyone think of the pal snes, aesthetically speaking. better looking than the us version? did any other systems have a complete redesign to suit other markets?
