Well I have been playing my silver US GBA SP a lot recently, completed Shining Soul and have gotten into the amazing game that is Golden Sun (had the game for ages but not played it)

Been playing for a few days, kept the GBA SP on my desk, or on the floor by my bed, been very careful with it.

I come home from work today, take the GBA SP downstairs, open the flip part, and the screen is smashed!!!!! its smashed from the bottom right corner, in every direction, blobs of LCD crystal all over inside....

I've not broken it! my dad has been out today, and I asked my mother if she knew anything about it, but she said no...

WTF :(

I rang Nintendo, and they want £38.50 and for me to send it to them, and they will send me a brand new GBA SP.

But that really sucks!!!!!!!!

This sucks!!!!!! :(

Cant find any replacement screens on the internet, there was one site which said "no more screens period". I've looked and a brand new GBA SP NES edition from the US would cost me around £52 plus shipping

Is it just me that thinks its unfair of Nintendo to want £38.50 and they get my old SP to repair and resell (presumably??)

O_O

Nope no idea.. allthough maybe it was stood on, by my mother...

Something was moved in my room I just noticed...

GAH I guess it was my fault for leaving it on the floor... :eek 2:

Yeah basically it's your fault for leaving it on the floor and Nintendo's doing you a favor by getting you a replacement at a discounted price. I'd go for it. But yeah that really blows. :/

Ninty do poor old me no favours :(

They wont exactly sell me a screen for what.. £1? which it probably costs them... sooo...

I've looked and due to favourable exchange rate, GBA SP NES from the USA = £60 inc global priority shipping..

That's just £15 more than it would cost for me to get a regular SP off Nintendo... and I can probably flog the broken SP for £20 on ebay to some chump ? ?

What do you guys think, LOL LOL
