Nintendo.com forums...anyone else post there??

well, besides here and the ocasional cheapassgamer post, i have been posting a lot at the nintendo.com community forums....but, anyone else that has posted there.....do you notice that it seems like you have to dumb down your posts so people can understand....i mean, i realize its nintendo, but sometimes it feels like there are a bunch a 5 year olds posting on there....anyone else noticed this...

yes i have, and they are awful, the most interesting threads are agruments on whether or not zelda II on the NES is a good game.

most people over there hate the game, so you see their mentality

yea...nothing is better than the DP site....people actually know what they are talking about and you can usually get an intelligent reply

I did start posting there, but i'm in the UK and everytime i was gunna use the forum i kept getting asked to fill out the form for my address (in the US) I'm in the UK so i was getting tired of all that crap, but in the end it was the stupid replies! and silly threads that got me to keep away!..

When i first went to the Ninty forums i imagined! a DP forum but only for Ninty! Wrong....Wrong! it was a ninty forum for 5 and 6 year olds that call GBA Mario Advance a classic! LOL

It could be so much more O_O But isn't. O_O

The Nintendo.com forums are full of kiddies. And it is very unmoderated. And the same "what game is the best" thread appears 3 or 4 times a page. :p

Dp seems to be the best outlet for classic and new gamers to share there opinion. The other forums I've seen are too extreem one way or another.

I'm amazed that Nintendo.com finally HAS forums. Perhaps I'm the only one who remember the Nintendo.com of years past, but I was an "Nsider" back in '98 and '99. They had a really interesting BBS back then. It was a much cooler system than the generic message board they have now, but it's a sign of the times. Most people probably don't even know what "BBS" means these days. :P

It was plagued with the same crap it appears to have now. Lots of young kids, stupid topics, fucking RETARDED arguments, abuse of power (like when they banned the words "ass" and "cock", so you couldn't even use words like "assignment" and "cockpit"), etc. The Old-School gaming forum was pretty cool, though.

Then Dan Owsen flipped out, had a nervous breakdown or something, and destroyed the entire BBS. Man, it was funny stuff. :) Especially how insanely UPSET people got about it. There was a little blip about the boards being gone "indefinitely" on the site, and every few months there were rumors of it coming back. Now after 5 years, it's finally back, haha.

I actually recognize a few of those usernames there. I see that some of the NOA people are still working with Nintendo, and some of the big-time chat regulars are now mods. It amazes me sometimes just how devoted and involved some people get with online communities. o_O It's crazy to see that some people spend hours every single day for several years in some chat room or on a board. O_o

I really should post there and ask if Dan Owsen still works for Nintendo or if he finally completely lost his mind.

This forum is by far the best gaming community, period, of the features all of us mentioned earlier about Nintendo.com is actually true for most gaming sites, trolls, retarded/waste of time threads, losers wasting their lives on a single board. Even worse, some gaming sites you have adults, aged 30 to 40, doing this, ouch!
