Iam sure you have all seen the "# of watchers" slot in "my ebay" but what determines what a watcher is? in other words what makes a watcher a watcher? is it just someone who keeps looking at my auction? Thanks for your help.

when you are looking at auctions you can "watch" them if you arn't ready to bid yet or are looking at a number of the same type item. Ebay will send you a reminder before the end of the auctions so that you can decied then if you want to bid. Seeing how many people are watching your item is cool because it lets you know how many people were interested in your auction enough to keep track of it. Even if they haven't bid on it they might bid later. A large number of watchers could be an indicator of a last moment bid frenzy.

Yeah, when you want to keep an eye on some item in your ebay account so you don't have to search for it again. I believe any who bids also becomes a watcher.

You can only see it on items you are selling :)

Wow, I thought this was a selling manager pro perk only.
Kind of weird they're letting everyone see how many watchers their items have.

i would hazard a guess some bozos would pull their auctions if 2+ people were not watching...........

Knowing how many watchers and auction has, is a very useful tool when selling games! I love that

It's about time .. Yahoo used to have this as standard when they were still running UK auctions. I've requested it on every customer feedback form that ebay have sent me for the last thre years or so ...

Trouble is that now there is pretty much unlimited space on the watchlist, a lot of people will watch things that they have no intention of bidding on. I think that 90% of the 50 or so items on my watchlist come into that category!
