ehh.. it's nothing special.. and who does the game cost money to play? And why does it cost $8.95 when in Japan it only costs 600 yen ($4.95)!!

I hope more games come out with online support..

Without a keyboard it's about as fun as Everquest on the PS2, to hard to communicate intentions to be an effective online RPG..

But you stick a keyboard on it and you've got a computer.. not a console..

The reason that have u play is because it alot to keep the servers up and running and to have people on online stoping peeps from cheating and updates all cost alot of money

PSO ver. 1 for the DC was free.

PSO ver. 2 was not, it was about $15 for 3 months.

Apparently they claim that the US servers cost more to service because the majority of the hackers/cheaters/all around pains in the butt are in the US?

Still...what's 8.95 when you think of it...hours of fun with your friends (although the frustration level without a keyboard is a factor to be dealt with *sigh* ) - or a six pack of beer you go thru in a few nights?

$50 isn't for any game with the Xbox live.. that is just the Microsoft "gots to gets mine!" fee. You will also have to pay a fee for PSO seperate from the Microsoft fee. In fact many games are looking at charging a fee for Xbox online games beyond the Microsoft login server fee.

Um, you won't be playing with us. Xbox Live uses their own servers, and from what's been spread around, you won't be playing with anyone using another version.

The pay-to-play service doesn't keep out hackers, I think that's pretty evident from V.2 on DC. And Sega didn't regulate it very well, and I certainly can't see them changing that in the future. Just give it time and hackers will come, but I don't think they've figured it out so far. This is just my opinion of course, but if hackers pay the same amount as everyone else, why would Sega care to kick them off?
