I was wondering if this thing is worth the $100 price tag? Plus the i think $12.95 a month for it? Any information on the game would be great? :D

i try to stay away from online rpgs.... too pricey...
monthly fee's.. i dont wanna pay monthly for a game, i want it all paid for in one go as i could be really ill one month therefore i'll lose money, also it might get boring and you'll still have loads to pay...
also i find once youve reached a high level it looses its fun

If you haven't played an MMORPG before, it's worth giving a shot. If you have played Everquest, it's basically that in a FF world. Except there is a lot more story and the gameplay is a lot better balanced.

One thing I can't say enough is how much time the game requires. Even with a somewhat low level character, your playtime will be measured in days, not hours, like a regular FF. In that aspect you'll get your money's worth really fast. The game also requires your complete attention. If you're out hunting in a dungeon, you can't just pause and go get dinner or whatever, your character (and maybe your party) will get killed fast. If you get frequently interrupted by rl (real life) while playing, or don't have much free time, avoid this game at all costs.

That said, there's some really great moments in the game. Your first dragon slaying, the climb to the top of Delkfuut tower, riding the airship, visiting Jueno (sometimes over 400+ people buying/selling there at peak hours!) etc. I never got the chance to fight it myself, but I downloaded a video of the "final" boss fight and that's definately one of the coolest things I've seen in any FF game...really epic.

I picked it up in March and created a character but I haven't put serious time into it until now. Sometimes I'll only put in an hour a day and I can still have fun with smaller quests and other days I'll play for a few hours meeting up with other people and forming parties that get a lot more done. If you are a fan of other FF's I would recommend this, but keep in mind it will also be very different yet still similar. You will take long hours to level up like any other FF but there's also a TON to see in the world.

I figure I spend enough on games every month, $13 isn't really that big of a deal since I'm not a die-hard MMORPG player paying $60+ a month for several games and several characters. The HDD can also be used with RE: Outbreak for faster load times and also archive your PS2 & PS One saves.

If anyone on DP is still playing I can be found on the Unicorn server most nights, Level 10 Red Mage Taru Taru female, named of course, Achika.

It sounds like I would like this game!

But is it worth it if im already paying an Xbox Live account?

Well, IMO it's WAY better than PSO (so short and so repetetive) and that's about the only RPG on Live right now isn't it?
