I don't know if this is the right place to put it... but...

As some of you may know, I might sell my SNES collection. So I thought of an idea, to play the SNES roms on my Dreamcast. For the past 2 hours, I was working on it, and I accidently screwed up my dad's laptop. After messing with that, trying to fix it, I kept going, and finally finished. Well, I put the disc in my Dreamcast... and..

It didn't work. It came up as a music CD. Im not sure what went wrong. It might have been the CD Burner I used, and I think that's the problem. The only one I have available is the Burner from Music Match.

Anyway, I followed the steps from this: http://www.dcemulation.com/selfboot-dreamsnes.htm

Please, someone help me. If someone has an easier Emulator for the Dreamcast, or knows what went wrong, please help me. I don't want to have screwed up my dad's laptop for nothing.

Thanks.

I can't help you with your problem, but I don't think you'd want to play SNES games on an DC anyway. The games run at about 1/2 speed and are pretty buggy. You're probably best off playing them on a computer or a moded Xbox instead.

Ah, ok, thanks. I just thought it would be cool to play them on my Dreamcast.

Guess I screwed up my dad's desktop for nothing :(

Personally I think it's easier to just burn the Nero or DJ image versus the plain files. Use Nero for burning the rom disk. I think if you turn the music off and turn frame skipping on you can decent speed but it won't be like the real thing or playing it on a emulator on the PC. DC emulation was one of the only reasons I kept my DC once I sold my games. Generally DC emulation is only good for 8 bit systems and the Genesis minus the music problems. Snes as someone as said isn't worth the bother.

Ah, ok, thanks. I'll stick to PC Emulation.
