I got a Best Buy gift card in the mail and I was thinking of getting one of those but I keep waffling between the two.

Anybody play these yet? What are they comparable to? Worth the price or hunt for a used one?

I own both and both are awesome :)

Well The Suffering is a great game and one of a kind..bought it on release day for the Xbox and currently stuck on Chapter 17..anyway it's got some creative monsters and your mission is to try to escape the prison..but I can warn you it won't be easy :eek 2:

For Siren it's a exclusive on the PS2 and is a survival-horror stealth game that you do missions as different people and sometimes you get a weapons but usually it's your stealth that gets you through the mission safety..also they have this new element the straightjack where you are in the eyes of your enemies and it's very helpful too..especially against them snipers

Hope that helps :)

The suffering is a decent effort but not that great. if you're looking for a scare game I really wouldn't recommend it. It did have one weird ass part with one of the security cameras that kinda freaked me out but that's all I can recall. You can also turn into "The beast" for some random reason.

Never played siren but it looks much scarier from what I've read and seen. Heard it's rather difficult as well since you're basically defenseless.

Queen! :)

I liked what I saw of the Suffering, but after playing the demo of Siren, I can safely say I will only pick it up and play it when it hits the $5 mark. Maybe it was a glitch in the demo, but no matter how perfect I followed or jacked that stupid girl, I got killed by a creature. Every. Stupid. Time.

Go buy some PS one games ;D

I FINALLY got to bust open The Suffering (PS2 version) over the weekend, taking what I'm sure will be my last break before CGE.

I really liked it! Good controls, usually good camera angles. It has a lot of the elements of Silent Hill and even Eternal Darkness in that it throws some really weird stuff at you. Having grown up on horror and gore movies I'm somewhat de-sensitized to video scares, but the atmosphere of the game is suitably creepy. Wandering around the gigantic prison is good fun with lots of creepy monsters and cut-scenes of graphic violence.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard the word "cocksucker" in a videogame, and I heard it a few times. Lots of profanity but it does seem appropriate.

The action can get a little out-of-control if you don't have a good grasp of the controls. There will be moments when there are creatures all around you, even above you and you may just find yourself blasting away as you spin in chaotic figure eights. Ah, I kinda like that too.

I got about two hours into the game. I like it. I plan on finishing it after CGE.

Siren is awesome. Nothing short of what I expected from the Director of the original Silent Hill.

I liked Siren. Once you can get over the Japanese-looking people with British accents, I think you'll find a unique horror-type game.

Lots of fetch quests, but the sight-jacking makes up for it.

I like The Suffering, especially playing it in FPS mode. Haven't really given Siren that much playing time yet, but from what I have seen so far it looks pretty good. I want to see if I can finish Fatal Frame 2 first. @_@
