Does the TV screen bounce when your are trying to play the game, or are you talking about the cart not fitting?

I am trying to use it on a converter(the converter lets me play super fami games without having to bend the tabs back with pliers.

I dont get a tv screen bounce, but it just doesnt boot up(it is just a blank screen)

Does cutting the tabs work for PAL games? I know it does for Japanese games, you cut the tabs on the inside of the SNES.

i have a converter for the super famicom games. the voltage is different for the PAL games tho, 50v for usa and japan, and 60 for pal, so maybe the problem is with my tvs? i tried it on both of my tvs but no dice

It's the TV frequency (in Hertz) that varies between 50Hz (PAL) and 60(NTSC), rather than voltage. I don't think this'll be the problem since most Euro SNES games were not PAL-optimised.

It's possible to make a SNES region-free by lifting Pin 4 on the security chip (details here: http://www.gamesx.com/importmod/sneslockout.htm) but some late releases may still present problems. I'm not sure if Terranigma falls into this catagory or not.

Alternatively, I use a Pro Action Replay 2 convertor to play PAL games on my US SNES, but again this doesn't give 100% compatibility.

Find a tv with a v-hold on it. That can adjust the picture in.

That's not the problem. It's because of the region-lockout on the console.

Where is you get the pro action replay 2? www.lik-sang.com doesnt have that one. And i would rather not try to lift the pin 4 on the security chip bc I also own mario rpg and want to be able to play it.

My snes is ntsc(usa) region. I am using an adapter to play my super fami (japan) games, and while the PAL game terranigma fits the adapter, i jsut get a blank screen. I think i need to adjust the frequency by installing a frequency switch.

I'd guess that eBay would probably be the best bet - I got mine from a games store years ago.

A normal importadator will boot the game(yours probably has stained/dirty connectors), but show a "this game is not designed for your famicom" screen, you cant enter gameplay.

solution:

1. get an action replay mk3, it has auto ppu check deprotection.

2. mod your snes to change between 50/60hz timing with a switch(see www.gamesx.com)

id recommend the latter.

dracula's Snes is U.S and the super famicom converter is jap!

PAL games won't run on a USA snes.. (So forget the 2 plastic pins / inside the snes, although it is a good idea to pull them to play super famicom titles)

I have a Fire Converter (called Blaze in japan... Blaze and Fire are the same company..), it plays all U.S snes titles on the PAL snes except mario rpg.

And you can use it to play Jap titles and UK titles on the US Snes!.

But try the PAL / USA lockout mod first! ;)

Yeah, I tried playing a PAL-version game on an American SNES and fried it like chicken. I might have to get an(other) American SNES and try that mod. I can't run a 240V line to my room, otherwise, I'd hook up my PAL-version SNES and be playing that...

try lookin in the faq first. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39162

this is facts.
the game does NOT have a special copy protect
the game does not start due to the Region lockout chip being active.
PAL games wont fit in US consoles unless you remove the pegs on the inside of the cart hole. (US games in PAL consoles are an another story more platic is needed to be cut)
You can NOT fry a US snes by using a PAL game in it !!! if it fried it was probably due to failure of some sort like wrong Adaptor, defective game or short in game.
