I can't find the freakin gc broadband adapter

well i bought a gc today mainly for pso and metroid. first at gamestop, where i bought the gc since they have that 50 rebate offer, the worker there says he preordered one but hasnt paid for it yet, so he asks me if i want it. the manager pulls out his preorder and someone switched it with the normal modem adapter. crap. then i go to walmart, they dont have it. kmart, nope. target and another kmart, nope and nope. then i go to best buy and i only see the modem adapter. so i ask someone if they have the broadband, he checks and says they have some in the back. he comes back empty handed, and says oh there they are. nope, those are the regular modem adapter. more crap. so i go to circuit city, nope, another walmart, nope only the modem adapter. another target, NOPE. why the fuck did nintendo release so few of these fuckin things?

at least i got to play the metroid demo.

I had the same problem.. Got the game at best buy but no one had the broad band.. I called around and target and Wal-mart both said they had the adapter but i got there and nothing but modem adapters.

"These will get you online." said the girl at Wallymart :roll:

Luckly someone returned an unopened broadband to Software Etc. because they thought it was a modem. Seems Nintendo didn't think gamers had broadband lol.. Of course gamers have broadband.. duh..

Well I just got back from gamespot and they claim Nintendo plans pull the broadband adaptor off the market... they said they will not be receiving any more shipments. They think it's because of an over abundance of people on the servers... but I bet Nintendo has really just lost their minds. I don't know how reliable this source is, but every customer there claimed it to be true. Shame.

Nintendo didn't pull the broadband.. Sega pulled PSO off the market.. Just the first 250,000 Broadbands are sold.

I was thinking if I found an extra one around here, then I might be able to pull a price on Ebay. Good thing I looked first, because most BBA's aren't going for more than their retail price anyhow.

Try checking other Walmarts store, especially ones in small towns as it's less likely to have BB service anyway. The one I regularly visits has 8 BBAs in the display. I wish I could grab them all and help you guys but I'm way short on the dough this month.

We got a bulletin at work about this.

Nintendo IS NOT discontinuing the Broadband adapter. That is the good news. The bad news is that there won't be anymore BBA's on the market until Late December, when Nintendo gets a new shipment in from Japan.

Sega, from what I've heard IS NOT discontinuing PSO, but I don't work there so I don't know for sure. I highly doubt it though.

The Computer systems at Software Etc. (Gamestop) list PSO-GC as Discontinued. They have also removed the PSO-GC web page.

your best bet is ebay i have hard alot of stores saying that nintendo has listed it as N/A and can not even get on a waiting list to get some. each store only got a few each so that makes it even harder. If nintendo has pulled that are making a big mistake.
