I have been itching to play a Neo Geo for some time now. Broke down and won an auction for an AES. Long story short the seller tried to scam me, cops got involved and I got my money back. Dont ever mail money to Dennis P. Lewis of Manchester PA. He is a known scammer. I took it a a sign from the neo geo gods to go MVS. Mostly everything came from ebay. The design was inspired by a supergun I saw on The Supergun Repository by DJRYDER88. I went into it with no knowledge of arcade machines or JAMMA or anything. To anyone thinking of making a consolized MVS, just do it. SO EASY!!! There is so much good reading about it on the interweb. My only problem now is I cant even beat the first fighter in Samurai Shodown on difficulty 4. I am terrible at fighting games.

Great looking setup! Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of MVS.
You're absolutely right about this kind of project's being very easy. Nearly anyone can go into it with little to no knowledge on the subject and leave very informed on the workings of JAMMA and other arcade bits.
Is Samurai Shodown your only game? What else are you looking to pick up eventually? MVS = crack, and you'll probably end up with more games than you planned on. My original want list was 12 titles long, yet here I am at 54 and counting :)

As of right now samurai shodown is the only game I own. I think the next one on my list is going to be Blazing Star. I am certainly more of a collector than I am a gamer and this MVS is sort of my reintro into enjoying games so I dont want to get too many too fast. I miss getting excited about a game and then playing the hell out of it until it is beat. When every weekend you come home with a huge sack of games, some of that magic is lost. There are lots of MVS games I am interested in. (Clubninja) What are a few of your favorites? Do you have crossed swords yet? That game just really interests me for some reason.

I do have Crossed Swords. It's a fun and unique game, though I found it can get old after a while. Definitely worth picking up on the cheap, though.
My favorites? Samurai Shodowns III and V, King of Fighters 95, 97, and 99, Magical Drop II, Matrimelee, Metal Slug X and 3, Blazing Star, Pulstar, Last Blade series, Shock Troopers series, Zupapa, and well, everything. Even the "bad" games are fun - Ninja Combat, for example. I could really play any MVS game and be happy. That's why I have so many, and intend to have many more :)

I see by your signature that you own a candy cab. I want one of those things so bad I can taste it. My MVS rig will tide me over for now but I would gladly toss it into the OHio river for one of those. Nothing replaces an actual arcade machine. nothing.
