Nintendo has the most well known characters in the video game world. Pretty much everyone (non gamers included) have heard of Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Samus, etc.

The Game Boy is the most successful handheld system to date...any system that can go strong for 15 years is phenomenal.

Most importantly, Nintendo games are the best of the best. Where would we be without Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Donkey Kong?

I love Nintendo because they brought video gaming back to the masses. At one point Mario even surpassed Mickey Mouse as the most recognized character by children. The vast variety of games is really what sold their systems to me. Even within sub-genres there were enough choices for every gamers tastes. Nintendo has dominated the 8bit market, the 16 bit market, and destroyed every other handheld so far, not to mention they are still going strong today. Probably the strongest point is Nintendo is not afraid to take chances. A perfect example is the Virtual Boy. Did it fail? Yes, but it was a bold step to take and now has its own cult following. I love Nintendo because they show they can still produce quality games and can still hang with the hardware developers, where as others have fallen into simple software companies.

Why I love Nintendo-

The reason I love nintendo is simple. CONSISTENCY! Every system they come out with some crap games, but those exclusives are always amazing. You can bank on them everytime. They are going to be funny, probably kiddy but still are amazingly fun. If you game with other people at partys why would you even think about going for a different company. Since the NES this company has been all about multiple player gaming. Everybody know nintendo cause they are simply the best.

Killer arcades! Mario Bros. Is still my fav.

I would have thought i was the Atari boy i grew up on, but when the NES came along i sold my 2600 and all my 70+ games at a decent price back then at my parents garage sale. Then i bought my NES. I blame it on almost failing 4th-9th grades.

i remember moving to the suburbs it was a bad winter day and the truck could not make it up, so we packed the NES, the tv and pillows, and my brother and I played excite bike all night.

Memorys like that work, and make me go back every time.

Why do I love Nintendo? Simple. Nintendo, back in the day, brought back the ailing videogame industry onto its two feet. Without that, my life would be completely different. I would have never experienced and fell in love with, video games. I cannot say for sure where I'd be, but it most likely wouldn't be here. I'd never meet so many people that I now call friends. Nintendo changed my life, and in my opinion, for the better. The least I can do is say I love Nintendo.

If I hadn't been with Commodore, then I would have been here. Nintendo games and consoles have been an integral part of my gaming life for the last 15 or so years, so it is hard not to enthuse about them.

In this day and age of violence, murder, abuse, rape, blood and the such seemingly being "what people want", it is refreshing to see a company (in general) refuse to pander to those sorts of themes and can still make and publish mature type content at the same time. Don't believe me? You've not played one of the Legend of Zelda games then for example.

Well said man. It's one thing that people use when they talk down about Nintendo. A weakness as a strength.

Nintendo. Home of Shigeru Miyamoto, Lord of Innovation. This man Dreams in Crayola.
My reason for loving Nintendo isn't because they revolutionized video games, but because they continue to do it oh so well. When it comes to contols (not controllers0, Nintendo consistently wins awards for having the tightest, most responsive controls in a game. With games lutilizing the Imagination like Pikmin, changing the concept of FPS' with their Metroid Prime release, Including everybody in their easy to pick-up-and-play Party line of games (including Super Smash bros.) is what makes Nintendo my choice.

Innovation, Game Mechanics, and Imagination. The things that I need more then GTA knockoff number 32.

Plus....Super Marios. Bros. 3 is still the greatest selling video game of all time.

It was my first system (my grandma had a 2600 for earlier gaming). I loved my little grey box. It was also the first system that I bought my first game on with my own money. Tecmo Super Bowl. I didn't have many games growing up but the ones I did I played over and over again. One of them was even Festers Quest which I can hardley play for more than ten minutes now.

Well, as much as I love my tribe....Nintendo's the one that engineered the existance of consoles for Konami games to be played on.

Nintendo's still got the best 1st-party support out there. I look at magazines with pages upon pages of the next dull Tom Clancy pile of boredom, and then I see things like Pikmin 2 and Donkey Konga.

I love nintendo for the great 2d sidescrolling games it has. It is also cheaper and more fun to me then the newer systems such as ps2 which still have some good games on them, but I jsut love going back to my nes. (I forgot about the tribe thing until just now, darn)

If it wasn't for Nintendo, I wouldn't be gaming. Simple as that. I was too young to be a part of the pre-crash craze, so it's all about Nintendo and Japanese style of game design for me.

Hehe, this tribe stuff is doing wonders for my post count. I've already made it to 500. :P

The name Nintendo - more than any other company - is almost synonymous with great video games. Sure, PlayStation is a household name as well, but that's not a company name.

The foundations of the console industry were firmly laid by Nintendo, and their name is prominently displayed on the cornerstone of the interactive entertainment medium as a whole. So much of their stuff has been revolutionary over the years, and they continue this tradition even today with unique products like the DS.

When I picked up my 'cube a little over a year ago, I realized that I had rediscovered gaming. Why had I strayed so far from the fold? I was home:

Nintendo.
