Sorry about my lengthy rant earlier -- that was outside of the competition, although mighty fun to write. From that, I have an official entry now...
Why is Namco the greatest? They hold three of the most recognizable games ever in Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. They provided Sega with the first pack-in for the Playstation, Ridge Racer and they created what is still thought of by many to be the best 3D fighter ever, Soul Calibur as a launch title for the Dreamcast. And on top of all of this, Namco is one of the few companies in the world to have great success in the arcade as well as in their home conversions. When it comes to making good business decisions and creating memorable hits, Namco is the best video game company ever!

They also made Soul Edge which is just as good as it's sequel.

I personally love Namco for their lightgun cames.
The Time Crisis series and Vampire Night, and the Point Blank series are all very high calibur games.

I love Namco for giving Wolf Team the funding they needed to become a heavyhitter in the RPG developing world, which thus gave Gotanda and others the ability to break off and form tri-Ace.
Likewise, I love Namco for funding tri-Crescendo and Monolith so they could create Baten Kaitos (and hopefully more great tri-Crescendo games in the future).

Other than the battlesystem I cold never really get into any of the Tales games. I could say the samething for Tri Ace and a few other small time devlopers.

I love Namco for their Pac Man Vs / Pac Man World 2 dual pack. I have to say that the $20 I spent on those games was probably the biggest bang for my gaming buck I've had in the past two years.

I still prefer the arcade Super Pac Man to this day.

Sega Playstation? I know the Sega fanboys would be happy.
Namco really defined classic arcade to me. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Mappy...these were my favorite games. And they still hold up today. While I had favorites from companies like Atari and Midway, the Namco games were always the ones I went to first.

I remember the good old days at the roller rink when I'd VERY carefully and slowly skate into the food/arcade room with my little white and purple rollerskates and play Dig Dug while desperately trying to balance in place. :) Dig Dug has always, and probably will always, be my favorite game to play in arcades. I can literally play it for hours.

If I was playing games on skates I would spend more time falling down than playing the game.

Man, i forgot about Mr. Driller too! and I love that game!!! Easily the best puzzle game ever, after Tetris.
and I can't beleive no one, (Including me) has mentioned Klonoa! Klonoa is easily one of the platformer game series ever, and I especially love how it integrates 2D and 3D elements. Too bad we'll probably never get another Klonoa or Mr. Driller game in the US. CURSE YOU POOR SALES FIGURES!!!!!!!! :(

They also didn't release the second GBA Klonoa game in the US for the GBA.
