Well it took me a long time to finish but it is finally done. My table is finished, now to move onto the chair. I can't find out what to do with that ledge. What do you guys think?

Not bad at all! I like it....I figured it would be too bulky but I was wrong.

Only thing I'd change is the white wood...I'd have gone with black or any darker color.

Overall - A+!

Nice! I am collecting carts to make a table for myself... I am using any cart though. I am taking the labels off, and using the blank carts...

It looks like some of those carts have the old style seal and some have the new. I would have grouped those together for a more 'uniform' look.

And perhaps a sheet of protective plastic on the top of the table so you can use it for anything, including food. :)

Overall all, nice work! 8-)

I have to second that.

IMO, it would have looked nicer if you would have done something other than stick SMB/DH carts onto a pre-exisiting table.

But it looks alright.

How would I have done that again? Please explain how I would have done it any other way.

It's nice, actually i was gonna do the same, but the carts would be covered with a clear epoxy and poored on top to make it look like 2" thick plastic with carts inside.

Problem I have is this epoxy that would work would cost me over 150 for parts A+B and be a real fricken mess unless i make a mold. So i gave up for now.

You could've just made legs with the carts and a top piece and connected them. I believe that would've looked better.

It's not too hard unless you'd prefer attaching carts to a table instead.

It would have taken a lot more carts but you could have stacked carts on top of each other (you know how people normally stck carts) to form the leg structure and then attached the outer carts with the labels facing out.

But as it stands it looks nice, except for the white. You could also have bought raw wood and built the table structure yourself so you could have painted it Nintendo grey (or black).

Also a clear resin finish would definately give it a professional durable look and functuality.

But really it does look nice.

there are 2 options there. Make each leg about 50 carts which isnt happening. Or glue them bottm and top together. In which case it wouldn't even be able to hold 2 soda cans. It wouldnt upport them at all.

To everyone else. Yes I plan on puttin some plexi glass around it so the labels dont get ruined and i can put soda on it.

After hearing so much talk about mario/duck hunt furniture its nice to see someone finally make an attempt, for how few carts you used it looks great. The table underneath does definitly need to go grey though, nice work and effort man

I'd also stick a slab o' plexiglas on top of the table surface to protect the cart labels from wear, tear, spillage, etc. etc. - you can plexiglas cut fairly inexpensively at Lowe's, maybe Home Depot as well. I've had Lowe's custom size plexi for me before, and I don't recall them even charging for it (meaning the cutting - of course I still had to pay for the material!).

Other than that, lookin' good!

Looks nice.
You could trim off the top of a few carts say an 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, and glue them to the edges. so it looks like a bunch of carts in an open toaster.
Also you might consider adding a row of carts to the inside surfaces of the legs, like the front of them. I think you would see less white, then you could use the bottom section of the carts you cut for the table top edge, and use the smaler side and board sticking out to fill in the space between the carts on the legs.
Not that im telling you how to build your table.......

well, there wouldve been ONE way to make the carts stand alone without having a table in it. Putting steel rods, or thicker sheet metal, THROUGH The center of all carts, wouldve made it work...steel rods, i'd say you'd need at least 2 for each row of carts, given the width of nes carts. but hey. it's his table. get your own damn smb'dh carts and make your own damn table!!! LOL

Not interested in SMB/DH but I could do something similar with Dragon Warrior carts. God I find them everywhere.

Yeah, I did that with NWC carts...jk.

It would be even cooler if the table was entirely made out of SMB/Duckhunt carts (well, plus adhesive and/or screws)....no white table underneath.

A recliner would be even more impressive.

:D
