Koei knows what they do well and they stick with it. From the epic battles in the Dynatsy Warriors series to their historic simulations like the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms series, they continually improve. They aren't afraid to branch out and try something new, like Yanya Caballista: City Skater or Gitaroo Man, but they always go back to what they do best. I have gotten more pure gaming enjoyment out of the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors games than any other series in the current generation.

Gotta hand it to Koei. Romance of the Three Kingdom is definately a "doot de do, 1 country conquered, 2 countries conquered...holy crap, it's 2 am!
kind of game.

A little while ago I created a DosBox - that is to say, a computer created solely for the purpose of playing old DOS games. I did this for a few reasons, namely:

XCom: UFO Defense
System Shock

and Koei's Celtic Tales: Balor of the Evil Eye.

I love that strategy game and could play it for hours and hours. I always want to win by diplomacy but those fools would always come and attack me and steal my cattle, and what can I do then but destroy their entire tribe and force them into slavery?

I've gotta give credit to koei for making Gitaroo-man. It's quite ironic that a company known for strategy games would go and make the greatest music game ever. That game needs a sequel. NOW.

Mojo King Bee? Yeah...I still think he's the hardest guy in the entire game. And he's only level three! The rest of the game is pretty easy after that. At least for me. :D
