How many of you remember playing Scorched Earth (AKA Scorch) that was freeware and quite popular in the early to mid 90's? It was a great game that I used to play all the time in high school. You commanded a tank and tried to destroy other tanks (players) on the screen, using elevation and angle. Scoring kills earned you money that you could use to buy shields, nukes, MIRV's, and other nasty weapons. It's a great party game.

Now, a friend just told me about this great 3D remake of the classic game:

It's totally free, available in many flavors, and can be tweaked to run on various systems, even older ones. Up to 24 people can play online aganist one another. Online play is stable. Each player has 30 seconds to set in their targets and fire, and after all players have entered the command the shots are let loose.

We could have some great DP team battles with this one.
