I've been sitting out on the current generation of consoles since the PS2 was introduced. However, I think it is time I got myself a new gaming machine. After considering the PlayStation 2, the GameCube, and the XBOX, I have decided on the TurboGrafx. 8-) Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin.

Which games should I get? Which should I avoid? What's the best hardware to get? Which games and hardware should "get me set" on a small budget?

Thanks for your help fellow collectors and gamers.

It greatly depends on if you want to play CD titles or not. If you don't have much to spend you might be better just sticking to hucards and a TG.

As for games there a lot of good shooters for the system. There's only a couple of bad ones like Deep Blue. Here's a few recommended title. I'll keep it to US titles.

Blazing Lasers
Bonk 1, 2
Cadash
Devil Crush
Dungeon Explorer
Neutopia 1, 2
Ninja Spirit
R-Type
Spatterhouse
Super Star Soldier

TG-16 is a great little system...but sticking with my Tribe for Tribes week you should get : http://home.ptd.net/~tholly/Xs.jpg instead.

but, if you must get a TG-16, get China Warrior.....its a pretty crappy game....but i got a kick outta the graphics and i bet you will too, plus, you can prolly get it pretty cheap.

Yes, I'm the newest member of the WD tribe (just added today!). So obviously I have to play Ys since they were made by the same company that made Popful Mail. And, of couse, the WD games must be mine!
