I vote "woo hoo".
I really didn't think I'd like the game that much. I didn't expect it to be much different than GTA III, which I played to death. But it is. The most important things to me:
1. The city is bigger and unlocked right from the get-go.
2. The graphics are better, and there is much more to SEE.
3. You can go inside certain buildings.
4. The music. It's incredible. You can play for hours and hours and still keep hearing 80's surprises. Better still, the choice of music is unprecedented. Sigue Sigue Sputnik!?! You gotta be kiddin'! ROCK. ON.
Major big game. It's hard to dislike.

great game. i like it more than gta3 for the fact that your goal now is to take over vice city. i actually beat the main story already and am now working on getting 100% completion. i hear you get a couple cool things if you get 100%. at least i got all the hidden packages out of the way. now i gotta do all the rampages, insane jumps, cop, ambulance, and fire missions, and a couple property related missions.

the other cool thing about the game is that you can rob any cars you like! :D

I'd say much better than GTA3 in graphics and storyline. I would like a little better control and a bit more violence wouldn't hurt. 8-)
Maybe GTA4 will have more "adult" oriented themes if you know what I mean!

You gotta be a Lamer not to like this game, The Soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission. I also like the fact that so many Well known actorsl lent thier voice talent to this great game.
Thanks

Vice City kicks so much ass. You could play for hours and not even do the missions- just work on insane jumps, the special missions or shoot people up all day. or you could just play the game normally- it's open-ended which makes it more fun!

I held out on buying a PS2 for two years. When someone would ask me why I'd say "I'm waiting for THAT game". You know the one I'm talking about; the game that's so good you can't live without it, and you must buy the system to play it.
GTAVC is THAT game.

Sorry guys, gotta disagree. Sure the game is pretty good, but there's no denying it's just more of the same. I realize that R* knew they had a gold mine, and that just by rearranging a few things and paying for some hot 80's songs, they could get a blockbuster without having to do any revolutionary new programming. They were right. I'm not very impressed with the game, they just threw in a bunch more mindless tasks to keep us busy and cover up the fact that they didn't program in more missions, of which there are not nearly enough. Pizza deliveries, for Christ's sake? Hell, I delivered pizzas one summer, it was not fun, why the heck would I want to do it in a video game? Sure they opened some buildings, but not very many, and the mall is just a big outdoor area that they stuck a roof on. The helicopters are sorta fun, but if you knew how to fly the dodo in the last one, you know they are not revolutionary or anything.
Sure, I'm playing the game, and enjoying it, but I definitely don't think it deserves the 10/10 reviews everyone is giving it. I rate it maybe a 7, simply because it's just more of the same. Needs more real missions and less of the mindless repetitive tasks. Plus, they rushed the release and it's glitchy as hell.

Hey... I AM the one who's supposed to be the critical one, dammit.
I still give it a 10/10. It could be better but the game is in a league all it's own. When you see what they CAN do with a game like GTAVC, you wonder why everything else seems so shallow. Also I disagree that it's just "more of the same". I think it looks like that on the outside but the game "feels" rebuilt to me. It looks better, it controls better, there's more to do, there's more music. It's not PERFECT, but on a scale of PS2 games, it's the best. A 10.

I did buy it, finished it in fact. I played through all of the missions in about five days, playing about two hours a night. 10 hours is short for any game. Yes, I'm not counting all of the pizza delivering and stuff. I blew off the pizzas, taxi, fire truck, and vigilante. IMO, those types of missions are only there to help you learn the layout of the city, there was no need to add MORE of them such as the pizzas. I did the ambulance just to get infinite run. I suppose I'll have a go at the unique jumps and maybe some of the rampages, but I'm not going to go crazy trying to get 100 percent or anything. Maybe I'll have a go at doing the vigilantes, but only because they're sort of fun when you use the hunter.
After that, on the shelf it goes!
WOOHOO!

It's the environment more than anything. There are a few things that have changed for the better, but the mechanics are still the same. The fact that you're in a totally different city is the best part. You've gone from skyscrapers and bridges to palm trees and swimming pools. Not many people will admit to it, but the change in scenery is what's appreciated most.

Woo hoo!!!!
Really, it's an instant classic. Easily one of the coolest games ever. Why? See everybody else's posts above, can't add much more to that.

but here comes the sad part, many parents want it out of the shelfs because they think the game is teaching them how to shoot, murder and steel people.the petition is getting succesful

If by some chance it does get pulled off it could become a collector's item someday, like BMX XXX could if it's ever out.

this game will not get pulled from the shelves because of idiot parents that do not know how to raise their children.

for my last question....will there ever be a 5th one?

Most assuredly. With over 4 million copies orders by retailers selling at an average of $40, GTAVC has made over $160 million so far, more than a major Hollywood blockbuster, and with a lot less overhead than a movie. If they made Sister Act II, they sure as hell will make GTA4 :D

I hate it when parents blame a company because Billy shoved an alligator up his ass. Oh, he learned how to set fire to himself from videogames. Well, arent you a good mother for letting your son play those games. Its not like the companies put a gun to your sons head and told him to do that. So, she's suing the company because she's a bad mother. Im good with that.
