Wow, registering games at Nintendo.com actually does get you something. Today I just got an email from Nintendo saying that since I registered my Gamecube and 5 GC games, I'm entitled to get the Metroid 2 Demo Disc.*GASP!* It includes a playable demo of Echos plus movie trailers, art gallery, and The Metroid Chronicle (whatever that is). Said it's supposed to ship on August 20th.

This is a cool freebie, but I'd still prefer to get some kind of promo presentation case for all those damn NES GBA releases I bought (like the japanese gamers got).

So... you can register any five games? Or five that have those PIN number dealys?

And is it too late to do so now, if they mentioned that?

You can only register GC games that come with those PIN number sheets. I think someone posted a list of all registerable GC games here a while ago. There is only around 15 or 20 that you can register, so there isn't many. Here's the link to the offer:

http://www.nintendo.com/metroidprime2.jsp

I don't know if it's too late to sign up but it sounds like quantities are limited. I just did it though and I got conformation that my disc is reserved.

You have to register five games with the PIN #'s, and it's while supplies last. you just have to register the games sign in and click "Yes" that you want it, and they'll send it to you starting Aug. 20th.

Bah. I've been rather "not-buying" most GC games lately, so I have 2 PINs.

Actually, ALL registerable Nintendo games count towards the bonus disc, not just GC games. I checked my profile on Nintendo.com and I only have 4 GC games registered, so they must accept GBA games too since I have a bunch of those registered..

I want one!

I'm not going to spend a bunch of money to get the remaining PIN's (3) I need to get one though. :(

I registered and stuff earlier today (Saw this at CAG). I personally have 20 game PINs (6 I haven't registered yet because I'm too lazy to take the papers out of the GBA boxes). If anyone has either/both Pokemon vidoes and/or Hamtaro: Whatever the subtitle of the new game is PINs, LMK...

EDIT: I just realized that, in order to get all the PINs I want, I'll have to buy both Pokemon rereleases :/ Oh well...

If anyone needs a Gamecube to register, I've got a second one that I don't think has been registered (Although it was bought used).

That Metroid bundle looks intriguing... It looks like the Metroid/Metroid Bonus disc combo pack-in will be collectable. How many people do you think will actually buy it this time around? I mean, most people that didn't have a Cube already got suckered in on the Zelda bonus pack-in not too long ago...

I did a search on eBay for "Zelda bonus disc" and I must say that I'm not terribly impressed by the prices those discs are pulling down. It's collectable, if you don't mind having everybody and their brother spending money to get them. I'd look at the special edition N64s as a guide to the future value of this GC deal in the future, unless they don't release a ton - like I'm pretty sure they should.

The Zelda pack-in actually had full games on it. This looks like it's only a demo and some art galleries. I'll see if I have enough games (I know of at least four off the top of my head), but I doubt I'll go out and buy some just to get this thing.

After digging around, I found a list of the games that have the codes in them:

No, no no! Look at the link....

http://www.nintendopower.com/metroidprime2

And look at the GAME bundled with the Gamecube. Its Metroid Prime w/ bonus disc, kind of like the pre-order Mario Kart Double Dash. In one neat little package. The magazine sub and the freebie being given away on nintendo.com looks like its JUST the bonus disc... no Metroid Prime game included with it.

The Zelda pack-in I'm referring to is the Thanksgiving day Zelda Collector's Edition bundle... they had a Cube and Zelda Collector's Edition for the low price of $99.99. Those are still in demand.
