If I was to suggest something based just on your avatars I would say Cube hands down. Cube is cheaper and has more exclusive games. Xbox is good too but I tend to thing everyone should have a cube so cube before box.

xbox for emulators etc (needs a chip thou)
cube for classics like double dash & metroid prime

im honestly not too impressed with the xbox's graphics regarding MOST games

there are a few exceptions.

Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Metroid, and Megaman

5 good reasons to pick up the GC.

However

buy an xbox, mod it, and then you play various roms on it as well as "backups" of xbox games.

if you like RPG's, fr4om what ive read here Tales of Symphonia for GC sounds and looks nice, however Fable comes out next month for the xbox.

Has to be the Cube! So many great titles!... Wind waker, Metroid Prime, F-zero, Mario kart Double dash, Viewtiful joe, Splinter cell, Starfox Adv, Mario Sunshine, Final Fantasy CC, Super smash Bros etc etc..

I know the box isn't too bad, with some nice titles, but it's the almighty GC for me!.. Go for it man!

Pick up a Gamecube because it's cheap and not a piece of crap.

Get an Xbox, not a Gamecube. Worse system I have ever bought, my Game.com gets played with more. -_-

not being mean, but i always hated the which one should i buy threads....

just go with what you think you will like more, not what somone else tells you...you know better than any of us what types of things you want to do with your console....fan of online multiplayer -- go with xbox, fan of zelda, mario, megaman and all the classic characters -- go with gamecube, or do like i did and buy both, that way you dont have to decide

...but whatever you do, just go with what you think you want, not what someone else tries to push off on you....i mean, if you read through your topic after a bunch of people post....its prolly gonna be split down the middle, with everyone giving good reasons for both systems.....

I also have neither, and I've been inclined for a very long time to choose the Gamecube over the XBox, primarily due to games like Super Monkey Ball and Ikaruga. I haven't played many games on the system, but it seems to me that more varied, interesting sorts of games come out for the Gamecube. Super Monkey Ball, as an example, is really bizarre, and so 'out-there' I can't imagine anything that weird being on the XBox (or the PS2, for that matter).

But then everybody came on here last week talking about ESPN Football 2k5, not available on Gamecube. So that has me thinking about the XBox.

Fortunately for me, I'm too broke to even think about getting either one right now, so I'm not faced with this difficult choice. :P

Well it seems that the GC is the obviusos choice for Mario Kart, Sunshine,im a mario fan so the gamecube will be great for me :D
I really dont like starting "whch should i buy threads but this was an exception for me cause i really couldnt decide for my self. Thanks Ill get a indigo gamecube and wavebird later on then Sunshine and Twin Snkaes will be my first purchases ROFL

But now i'm thinking of getting an xbox my brother has all 3 of the new gen's and i have the GC and Ps2 i might have to go for the New Gen Trilogy!

both are very good systems, but if i could only get one, because of price and overall game selection,i would choose the gamecube.i think the x-box has more games released for it then the cube, but i think the gamecube has more "good games"than x-box.there is only a small handful of games that are only on x-box that i want to play, yet on cube, there is a whole bunch of only on gamecube titles that i must play.plus, paper mario2,fire emblem, and donkey konga all coming out this year!! but if you dont have a ps2,you should get a ps2 first.

The best advise I can give you is if you want lots of exclusive titles like Final Fantasy CC and the Zelda series get a cube. The best reason I can think of to grab a box is HALO 2...ok maybe its the only reason.

This question really depends on you. What games do you like? If you like Nintendo titles then get a Gamecube. If you like what the Xbox has to offer get an Xbox. I think Panzer Dragoon Orta is the best title released between the PS2, Xbox, and GC. I would probably pick up the Xbox. The Xbox also has awesome emulators and the ability to play backups. I wouldnt suggest pirating though! You gotta support developers you know? anyway, like i said, this is ultimately up to you. Get both. I have 2 of each. There are great games for each system. Has anyone noticed there are a lot of Xbox haters on these boards?

The Cube has Unity - Xbox does not.

Get both if you have the $$ though :D

X-Box. Most 3rd-party multiplatform releases are best on 'Box (there are exceptions, like NSF: Hot Pursuit 2), the audio if you have a 5.1 decoder is insane, it outputs in HDTV resolution for games that support it (also amazingly good-looking), and is very hack-able.

I've got three times as many 'box games as I do Cube games, and 90% of my Cube games are 1st-party.

Which I guess just goes to show, diff'rent strokes.

Just make a list of the top 15-20 games out right now that you want to play, regardless of system. Then see which system has the most games you want to play, and buy that. 8-)

Xbox.

When you factor in what you'll have to pay for memory cards for the Cube, they're about the same price, so that's really not a factor.

The Cube gets shafted on a lot of releases (ESPN, GTA) & most stores GC sections I frequent are growing smaller & smaller. There's just less to choose from with a Cube.

Finally, I have all 3 systems & if a game is released on all 3, I'll get it for Xbox first, GC second & PS2 last. They Xbox versions usually have better graphics, sound and I don't have to worry aobut freeing up room on memory cards for the game.

Its a port of the dc version with additional content. From what I've seen however the GCN version is much more expensive. I played the DC version and its great, youll enjoy either version.
