View Full Version : How much should I expect to pay for a Neo Geo CD console?

I already have several games for the system - which my cousin was kind enough to donate - so I am just looking to buy the console itself. From what I can tell Ebay is about the only place to find one and I should expect to pay between $150 and $250 - not including shipping. Am I correct? Any tips would be welcome.

I'd say $150.00 to $200.00 without games and shipping. Someone is tring to sell one on the forum you know.

Thanks. Looks like I am expecting to pay the right amount. And no, I didn't know someone was selling a NG-CD. I did look over the first few pages when I signed up - didn't see any mention of a Neo Geo system... but I could have just missed it I guess.
I'll take another look.

If you check out neo-geo.com someone is selling a system with the hookups for $80. Check it out if you want a very low price.

id say between $100 and $200
it all depends are where you are getting it from...if its US, the shipping wont be bad, but if its from Japan, expect the shipping to kill you.

Thanks for the replies. I responded to the guy with the $80 NeoGeo. Checked ebay, couldn't find the above user's auction - good luck with it anyway, man.
What's with all those Japanese auctions with $85 shipping? To the person who said shipping will kill you... no kidding. I send stuff all over the world and the only way it'd cost me $85 is if I wanted it there next day. Damn.
Thanks again, everyone!

The EMS shipping cost of a normal system is about $50.00 from Japan to the US. When you get to the heavier stuff you can't send it normal airmail or at least that is how it's in Japan. People in the US can send stuff cheaper. As for the $85.00 I have no idea unless the system was being auctioned off with a bunch of games. Some Japanese seller do overchaerge on shipping like $10.00 airmail shipping for a single CD case game.

Hasen't he got to be careful with region lockouts i thought the Neocd was region locked???
I know the cart based one isn't but i recommend selling those games and getting yourself a proper neogeo since the loading times are quite long on a Neo-cd
as for the Uk prices expect to pay £60-120 ($120-240)
Hope this helps :)

To the best of my knowledge there's no region lockout on the Neo Geo CD.

None of the Neo Geo consoles/handhelds had region lockout. :)
