Saw a zapper at a yard sale today, got me wondering...

So I go out on a rather large sale spree today, and one of the 25 cent tables has a zapper lying there. However, the barrel was mostly snapped off. This got me wondering: would a sawed-off zapper work? And if so, how differntly, would it be less accurate or just blast the whole screen, ect? Anyone ever tried this or know anything about it?

Seems to me it wouldn't focus, anbd therefore the input would be to diffused to see the screen.

It might be kinda fun to play with an ucfocused zapper!

I would think that you would have to make a new lens for it. The lens that comes with the zappers would be wrong because the barrel length would be different. But you could make it work again. It would look pimp if you did it right, too.
