So I'm rooting through this box of stuff to sort it. All vg stuff of course. I look at my finger! It is bleeding. When I look for the culprit it was a 32X! The part where it plugs into the genesis gave me a wannabe papercut.
I was bleeding all over my cool stuff =C
Name your vg injuries here.

Haha...Well, when I was but a wee lad, I decided to be an idiot and try to imitate Ryu's dragon uppercut thingy from Street Fighter II. I beleive it went something like this: "SHORYUKENOHMYGODMYANKLEAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!"
Yeah...I kinda sprained my ankle. It's really funny though looking back on it.

When I was a young man I would get very angry at most 8 bit/16 bit games (never seems to happen to me now but...) and I was so mad at Lightning Force that I spiked my genesis controller right into my foot. Yes. My FOOT.
"SHORYUKENOHMYGODMYANKLEAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!"
that has got to be the funniest thing i've heard all day.

Most recently while playing Activison Anthology for the GBA. I was playing Decathalon and I was using the knuckles of my thimbs to press rapidly back and forth on the D-pad. When one started burning I switched to the other. After that I had blisters on both my thumbs.

Awhile back,
I was playing Steel Battalion with Socks on..
With Socks it's easy to slip off the pedals when you are pressing the gas pedal all the way down and I did several times hitting the back of my foot..And that hurts..
But with the Socks on I was trying to keep my foot from slipping off causing me to get a cramp in my foot that kept me from walking on it for a day or two..
I pulled some muscle in my foot that I don't always use and was really hurting..
I'll never play Steel Battalion with Socks on again..

When I was a kid, a friend of mine lend me his Gameboy, and the cartridges came in these plastic cases. Somehow I didn't know the trick to open them, so I used my pocket knife - after the case was finally open, I noticed my hand was bleeding all over the place oO
More recently I got blisters from playing Decathlon on the 2600 ^^

I've heard that so many people have ripped up their palms playing that minigame in Mario Party where you have to rotate the joystick real fast that they sell gloves for it in Japan.

Only game that gives me injuries is golden tee golf but usually alcohol plays a roll in that as well. I actually broke my first wedding band hitting a shot in that game (I'm left handed so now whenever I play I have to remember to switch the ring to my right hand).

My CPU heatsink/fan cut one of my fingers once... Anyone familiar with the 7200rpm dragon orbs will know how dangerous and loud they are. :eek 2:
The same heatsink burned my finger when it wasnt plugged in. Lucky my cpu survived. As for injuries sustained *during* games- none that i can remember, though i do have a chronic need to flex and crack my knuckles in a disturbing way: i blame it on my keyboard and mouse. oh well :o

Oh God those things are the worst. I ripped mine open really badly once I could barely hold anything without it stinging like crazy.

I feel like benched Opera after I play x and o's football. It also really hurts to get your skin pinched inbetween the control panel and trackball.

Electrocuted myself trying to do an NES mod once. @_@
And then I nearly broke a rib trying to pull some little kid out from under a pile of...well...all of you at the infamous "Dig Dug Drop" during CGE2K2.

Twisted my ankle playing DDR once. Swelled up pretty damn badly.
Also damn near dehydrated playing that game a few times. After some rounds all I could think of was WATER....NEED WATER....
Got 3 blisters in 1 day from playing Drummania 3rd Mix.
Will probably pop a blood vessel in my head from Hot Shots Golf someday.

Back in the day, I was playing a 5 set match of Super Tennis (SNES) with a friend and I beat him by 2 points in the 5th set tie-breaker! He was so mad that he got up and punched the wall as hard as he could. It just so happened that a stud was right there where he punched. Needless to say, he broke many bones in his hand and had to be rushed to a hospital. The worst part for him was having to explain to people how it happened.
Aaaaaaah... Good times! Good times!

Well, I've got two: The first one is when I was in high school, I knew a guy that had a thing for actually trying to perform the "Crackshoot" from King of Fighters. I tried it one time, and nearly fell right on my head. Knocked the wind out of me for a while.
The other one I don't know if it entirely counts; when I was in eighth grade I broke my thumb over a kid's head because he was making fun of a buddy of mine, and I couldn't actually play any games (well, at least, no right thumb!) for about a month.

I hear ya, if I don't get a drink right after a round sometimes my chest feels like it'll blow up. And I've twisted my ankle too, but wow, that sounds pretty bad. You better not use that as an excuse if we have a match at CGE.

And back when Jeff Foxworthy was really popular, some old Neo Geo site had a page of "You know you've been playing too much Neo Geo" jokes.
You know you've been playing too much Neo Geo when you figure out how to do the Crack Shoot in real life.

My super advantage (snes controller) went all batty and shocked me! It hurt like hell plus it also busted the offical snes controller in the second port of the system. Needless to say i don't use that (or much third party parts) that often anymore.

Too bad that was months after the game had come out, so tons of families had probably already thrown away the box and receipt. :P Not to mention all the people who weren't getting Nintendo Power and never knew about the gloves...
I wonder just how much those gloves are worth these days? Pretty cool collectible, I'd say.

About 3 or 4 months ago, I was playing a game of Top Spin online. This was back when my ranking was in the Top 100, so I took the game very seriously. Well, I lost a very close match and was totally pissed. Without thinking, I punched the bookshelf next to me as hard as I could. Surprisingly, I didn't break anything but my ring finger knuckle swelled up a little bit (not the knuckle on the finger, but the knuckle on the top of my hand) I didn't think much about it but a few days later when I was on the computer, the thing swelled up to about the size of a golf ball (seriously, it was that big). I really wish I took a pic of it. It was totally disgusting and it looked like I had some severe deformity of the hand. After a month or so, the swelling went down but that knuckle is still slightly bigger than the rest.

Currently I have somewhat painful blisters on both my thumbs and on the part near the "webbings"(in between) on both my middle fingers from gripping my XBox controller.
Both are from playing Top Spin on XBL...

I was nosing about on the net before when I saw that one of AC Milan's world class centre-backs has managed to injure himself whilst playing on his Playstation. (http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=317331&CPID=21&clid=&lid=8&title=Gattuso+slams+Milan+leak) This obviously begs the question - what on earth was he playing at the time?

I screwed up a ps2 mod chip install and i got so angry i threw the mainboard at the wall... When i picked it up, i noticed it had red paint all over it. After a few seconds, i realized that it wasn't paint, and i had cut my hand on one of the solder joints. 4 cuts, almost needed stitches. Now i don't install modchips after midnight.

My first True thumb damage came from Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo for the SNES, blistered both quite bad.
I will not even count the number of computer cases that have cut me.
Worst experience was from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (the platformer played with bongo's). I was awoken in the middle of the night from the pulsing pain in both forearms, icy/hot and asprin were the only comfort.

Was doing some work repairing my first Game Gear, and accidently forgot to unplug it from the power socket (after having to pull it apart for like, the FOURTH time).
I touched both hands on the circuit board and electrocuted myself big time.

I hit my head pretty bad jumping up from a crouch after finally winning a race in NFSU I had had trouble with for hours. I forgot that I was sitting beneath my lamp, which is a glass-orb of 30 cm in diameter. Well the lamp survived but I thougt I cracked my skull.
Other than that I got a small screwdriver stuck in my upper thigh when it slipped from the screw of a Genesis I was taking apart for cleaning purposes. Went right through my aehm... pants, right, I wore pants (I swear!), and punctured my skin.
