I love waking up to this. Breaking news at the top of CNN.com.....
Florida sheriff: At least 3 suspects confess to killing 6 with baseball bats in dispute over Xbox video game console. Details soon.
This was all they had. The media is going to have a field day with this one even though common sense says the killings could have been over any item.

Heh, I was kinda hoping a system fell off a shelf somewhere onto a group of people. Those things are big!

What the hell is a "working-class, bedroom community". If the motives turns out to be over an Xbox, this is the stupitest crime ever commited and will forever ruin the good name of Microsoft. ahh...just a sad day for video games.

Nah, people have killed each other over stuff from car accidents to eating the last piece of pizza, Microsoft has nothing to worry about.
The rest of us, of course, do. :eek 2:

The fact you can hire three teenagers (or any age group) willing to kill in such a brutal manner is chilling. Society reaches new lows on an almost daily basis. O_O

Officials struggling to come up with a motive for the crime believe the killings were committed over the theft of some clothes and an Xbox game system owned by Victorino,"
Cool, I'm assuming that it will soon be illegal to purchase or wear clothes in Florida as well then :P

a guy who works for me got pissed as his brother ate the last piece of bread at thanksgiving dinner some odd years ago. He picked him up and threw him through the front picture window.
He hearly killed his brother from the glass hitting his throat, then beat him with his chair. his brother was still holding onto the bread, but the chair beating made him let go. Then he sat over his brother and ate the bread on the chair he brought out to beat him with. and finished it until the cops came and he got 2 years in jail.
oh yes there was boose involved.

Did they (MS) ever have a good name LOL........ Just kiddin! :P
They (the media) can use an Xbox as part of the issue, but it could have been a VCR, a TV... etc, etc... that guy was just a crazy bastard, and he knew a few other krazies!! too..
But in saying that, who knows the people they killed, could have been Krazy people as well??
In the end nobody should be murdered, or have there lives endded early and by the hand of another..
But on the Bright side i still have my Gamecube! (Gets my baseball bat ready for any krazies!) Errrrr! (Maybe that was for another post! O_O )

Hey, one of my "friends" several years back was shot in the back of the head for "stealing" a video game. That happened about 20 minutes from my house. The guy said he stole his game, then he put a bullet through his head. Nobody around here ever really got over that.

sigh, another true crime novel for my home county.
deltona is pretty much a suburb of nowhere, like so much of florida away from the beachside... i always figured they got the name from combining daytona with nearby deland...then theres ortona (ormond/daytona). somebody in the 1920s was trying to add a spanish flavor to swampland and figured "tona" sounded good. anyways.
i'm thinking that this wasnt planned as a murder, probably they planned to go over and "kick some ass" and then one of the people fought back...next thing you know its "dont leave any witnesses", bastards even killed the dog.

Nah, MS took care of that themselves a long time ago. They don't exactly have the most stellar reputation in the world.

I can't believe that you actually like hearing about, that's just plain sick and cold on your behalf. When I hear about that I really feel it and feel for the family. There was a girl that lived a few miles from me, both of my sisters and my brother were very good friends with her. She was sleeping and the son of her mother's boyfriend and his friends broke in to rob her house (they were after an X Box and a digital camera) they were on their way out and she woke up and confronted them and they stabbed her over 40 times all over the body and slit her throat, they were out for blood (all of this over theft) and a poor innocent girl was murdered I mean BRUTALLY murdered in the process. Ladies and Gents we need to be a little more sympathetic and show a little less callousness towards this stuff.
Also anyone of who are glad that you don't live in X state or town anymore, this can happen anywhere you live or go!

To all of you sitting on the fence about what next-gen system to buy, this solves it. XBox! It's the system worth killing someone for ...

And next they'll blame the teen's state of mind on games like Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto, both of which can be played on XBox.

You'll have to wait until October to place the blame on the Xbox version LOL

"7 dead over stolen microwave"
"3 killed because of digital camera robbery"

No, The title stated a dispute over XBOX not over AN XBox. To me them 2 are different. Maybe I just misinterpreting the title.
Oh and by the way, Here the follow up to that story.
