Haha i would say it was a good hiding place. Though if a thief ever broke in i'm sure he/she wouldn't pass up on the playstation.

secondly why steal a ps1 when there is a xbox next to it and a ps2! its safe LOL

Very true. LOL If you have a xbox and ps2 right next to it you could even maybe put your life savings in it. :D

Volume and weight wise a playstation isn't worth it unless the thief is stripping the entire house... the games are much more valuable pound for pound.

Nice work, cauterize. But whenever I see something like this I can't help but think of that old recurring sketch they used to do on Saturday Night Live with that pothead who ran the gift store. Anybody remember that guy? "You put your weed in it." LOL

At least you didn't do this with an X-Box...thereby inviting thieves and hit squads and all that other sore stuff from the other thread

LoL, that is funny, first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was Nez's receipt "holders".

But if you get robbed...won't the thief open it up to make sure there isn't a game in there? ;)

Thieves probably wouldn't pick up a PSX original 'cuz they're "too old." We aren't dealing with rocket scientists on the average here, but they aren't dumb either and they'd probably only pick up stuff they can sell.

That said, unless you've got a huge amount of games, they'd probably pick up the PSX, then realize something was wrong with it and either throw it away (and thus your money AND the PSX shell would be gone forever) or they'd open it, steal the money, and junk the case. I'd actually rather they stole the money so it didn't vanish into the dumpster - something could be repoed that way.

Personally, I think it'd be hillarious if somebody took a broke Genesis 1 and put a Genesis 3 inside. :P

Better yet, dremel away a Genesis 3 case until you can just lay it on top of a Genesis 1 motherboard.

Or put a SNES inside an Apple //...oh yes

I often read stories in the paper about houses were broken into, and the only thing taken is the videogames and console. Most thieves are the neighborhood kids, so that PS1 is the first thing they'd grab.

I hide my money in the bank. LOL

i don't know where you guys live, but crackheads will steal anything. they don't care what it's worth, they just sell it off the street for 2 dollars or whatever anyway.

my friend once bought one of those 200 cd books entirely full of cds from some crackhead for like 5 bucks. they don't care about what the value of the item is as long as someone will give them any amount of money for it.

you could always take the lid off of a broken dc or ps1 and turn it into a wallclock....
i was going to turn an sms-1 into a toolbox.
