You can't use the 32X adaptor on a nomad, and Golden Axe 2 is the only game I can confirm doesn't work with nomad. It turns on, but the controls are all messed up, rendering it unplayable.

Decap Attack doesn't work either, the controls are messed up.
The Sega CD plays "backups" just fine.

Isn't there a 'mode' button on the Nomad though like the 6-button controllers?

hold mode and start while starting up Golden Axe 2, its not compatible with the 6 button pad not the nomad.

Good God. O_O
Hold the Mode button down through startup, and Decap Attack, GA2, and other 3 button only games will work fine.
It won't play the early EA titles that don't have the lockout info. It of course won't play SEGACD or 32X games.
So in short, it will play all genesis carts except for a few early EA games that most genesis consoles won't play either.

Not really, I tried the Mode button on Decap Attack, it still doesn't work right.

I got "Budokan" to work on both a Genesis 2 and the Nomad via using the Game Genie as a "pass through".
So outside of any control issues those early EA games should work.

If Decap attack does not work, you are not holding the mode button down long enough. Hold it until you see a Decap attack splash screen, not just the SEGA splash screen.

Ms. Pac Man does not work on the Nomad.
IIRC Virtua Racing does not work. I may be getting that mixed up with something else though (like the Genesis 3).

Both of these games work on my Nomad. Genesis VR works totally issue free, and Ms. Pac Man requires you to hold down (not press, but HOLD DOWN TILL THE GAME ACTUALLY LOADS) the mode button to work.
I'm beginning to feel like a fire fighter here.

Yes VR will work on a Nomad!
VR does NOT work on a 32X + Genesis 2 combo. It probably runs fine without the 32X but I haven't tested it yet.
And I can confirm Budokan as a non working game also. This game only works on model 1 Genny's.

I might have been thinking of the 32X then.
Surprised to hear about the Ms. Pac Man trick! Too bad I got rid of my Nomad long ago.

Have you tried it with a Game Genie?
Unless i have some rare variant of this game it does work on the Genesis 2 & Nomad via the GG and without any codes.
I tried it out right before i posted about it working on a Nomad.

I don't have a GG but I think I'll start looking for one. Thanks for the info on that.

Cauterize is actually quite right...............
And what are you basing that on, exactly?
To get the word straight from the horse's mouth (ie: Sega) :
Genesis / Nomad Compatibility
Very few games are incompatible with the Nomad. The only game known to be incompatible is X-Men. Decap Attack does work - however, the C button acts as Start or pause. You can play the game by changing the button configuration, but you will not be able to pause during game play. Forgotten Worlds does work, but the Game Over screen will appear after you press Start. To correct the problem, use a 3-button control pad for the second player port. (http://www.sega.com/support/supportsys.php?item=support_systems_other)
Please get your facts straight before contradicting others who are correct.
