OK, are there ANY good RPG's out there? I'm looking for the following:

Party of 3-5 characters out to save the world. (NOT 118 characters that you can use 3-4 at a time. A constant party of 3-5 people)

NORMAL Armor, weapons and spells. Ya know, swords, shields, fire, ice no materia, or 2 pieces of armor crap. REAL armor and spells.

TURN BASED Menu driven RPG. As in Final Fantasy 4/6 Dragon warrior-type battle system.

Basically, I'm looking for a good Dragon warrior game (UNlike DW7 that lasted 100+ hours of relative ungraphical boredom) I'm NOT looking for a final fantasy or suikoden game with 300 characters and stupid conjunction/materia/no armor/weapons bullshit.

So. That said, am I dreaming? Will I EVER see another good RPG?

Sounds like Wild Arms 3 to me. Except it's set in an alternate "wild west" kind of world...and you can't equip new armor/weapons (only upgrade what you have and bind guardians to your character)...well, nevermind then. It does have a pretty constant party of 4 from the beginning though.

Have you tried Skies of Arcadia for the DC yet? I don't like it as much as others tend to, but it has the traditional battle interface and party design that you seem to be looking for. The GameCube version is hitting next year, if you want to wait.

Sounds like "Wasteland" or "Dragons Wars" for C64 would be right up your street then...

Although I haven't played it, I hear Golden Sun for GBA is right there if you're looking for 16-bit style role playing goodness.

I'm waiting for skies of arcadia on the gamecube, I have it sealed for the DC, but I'm NOT a big fan of the dreamcast at ALL.

I'll have to check out golden sun, especially if it has a "save anywhere" feature.... now that I think of it, I still have DW3 on the gameboy to play....

Wild Arms 3 I might get, but for some reason I remember not being overly thrilled with one of the prequels. I could be thinking of a different game though.
