Contra is pretty common, Super C slightly less so, Contra Force/"Arkhound" (well, that's a conjecture) is apparently a bit rare.

Operation C should be common, and the GB port of Contra: The Alien Wars (Note: The Little Ale-in is the name of a bar in Roswell, New Mexico, not part of Contra 3's title LOL Another note is that yes, it's Contra: The Alien Wars, no three, even though it's a port of Contra III) by Factor 5...no clue, really.

Contra III: The Alien Wars is pretty easily found, Hard Corps is less so (now the Japanese version, like the Japanese Bloodlines, pulls down some serious cash, and it's still my most expensive Mega Drive game).

During the so-called "32 bit era" you had Contra: Legacy of War on the Saturn and PlayStation, and C: The Contra Adventure on the PlayStation. I don't know how good or bad they all are, but I'm staying away. Common or uncommon, you'll find at least the two PSX releases on eBay any given time.

The GBA was "graced" (well, certainly in comparison to the Saturn/PSX releases...) by Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX, which has the train level of Hard Corps thrown in as a level "exclusively designed for the GBA." I think I actually was pissed enough about that little embellishment that I emailed Konami (of America), not that they've got more time than it takes to learn how to tie their own shoes. Common.

The PS2 is home to Contra: Shattered Soldier, which it goes without saying is still one of the more expensive titles on this list regardless of rarity due to its recent release.

Good catch on the PC pack - I'll have to get Kurt to update the site with that game (The Castlevania and Contra Collector's Edition package for Windows 9x/I think XP, which has Castlevania 1, 2, and 3, along with Contra and Super C). I think the Contra games haven't been touched, seeing how you don't really have passwords for them (Castlevania 2 and 3 are another matter where translations and passwords have been "cleaned up" quite a deal.

Nah - I hoped to be funny, because every now and then I think about that little place and that's the ONLY reason I thought it warranted a mention :>

Not that it is US, but, you should check out Probotector (Pal NES) if you are a Contra fan.

And if you have good taste, you're going to want Neo Contra when it comes out.

Arkhound?

Oh, and there were the American arcade releases of Contra and Super C, as well.

Arkhound was going to be the name of Contra Force when it was planned for release in Japan. It never ended up being released there.

Aye, Probotector and Probotector 2 are great looking games - I like the robotic versions of Lance and Bill more than the original characters.

Yes, there's the two arcade games, but I was assuming he was only interested in home releases.

Arkhound, had it been released only in Japan under that name, would probably be somewhat sought after now given its funky title and extreme demands on the FC's processor. As it turned out, they just decided to screw with our little brains a bit...

If you want to see how good the US Contra could have been, find the ROM for 'Gryzor'.

Yes it's the Japanese NES version. The US version had the story cut out of it. If you want to know more you'll have to play it.

Hmmmm, Sounds interesting. I know the Contra: Hard Corps has a story...But ive only played 3 Contra games (Contra, Super C, Contra: Hardcorps) so I dont know which other ones have a story to them.
