Whats a good way yo learn how to solder without busting anything? LOL I once heard that radioshack had practice motherboards you could fool around with or maybe just picking up an old pc or something and screwing around with that. Does anyone have a list of sites or tips i could use thanks.

I would get a basic electronic project book or something and start building things. I learned how to solder (not that I'm good at it) by just deciding to make stuff and making it. You could buy a breadboard at Radio Shack and use that, too, I suppose.

Go to a electronics repair shop and ask for garbage pcb boards from anything.....TV, VCR, etc....anything.

Then practice soldering and desoldering on that....that's what I did to get back in practice.

I learned how to do this in my H.S. shop class years ago but it's been like 10 years and I don't remember how LOL

I am sure if I praticed I would remember eventually. I think you hold the solder wire against what you want to soldier, and you heat the wire and it melts onto what it is touching. I think.... I wish I remember.


Go to Radio Shack and buy a project kit like someone mentioned. Best idea. :)

Or, when you or someone else throws out an electronic device, open it up and mess around with it first.
