Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: The Second Cataclysm for Sega CD

Can anyone explain or give a short review of this game?

I looks like another FMV title but with a 2 player mode?

Very intrigued by this game ATM. :)

Well, I played it a little and it was a drive through the jungle with dragon's lair, or maybe moreso road avenger, -esque play. Dunno what to tell you about the two player though. So I guess I don't ahve all taht terribly much to contribute to this conversation afterall.

Try the arcade game!

I had this game for the Sega CD. Here's a quick overview:

Based on the comic book. Gameplay consists of you driving a caddy through a prehistoric jungle, avoiding the dinos and bagging the poachers. Jump over crevices and steer around dinos and fallen trees. So, it's more of a driving/shooting game than anything else. What's cool though is that the scrolling playfield you drive on is an animated FMV. Very smooth and very cool looking. Tough game to find, tough to play, but beautful to look at.

I love Capcoms side scroller beatem' up version of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
I was kinda bummed that the Sega CD version was not the same game yet it still looks very interesting.

Sniderman's description of the Sega CD game is spot on.

There's also a Genesis version, it's a LITTLE closer to the arcade style. You can play two players and you have guns. It's a little more Contra than Final Fight but at least it isn't a driving and shooting game (I personally didn't care for the Sega CD game).

There's a GENESIS ONE?!?!@??!?!? You're joking right? Was it released? I NEED IT! I'm a huge Cadillacs & Dinosaurs/Xenozoic Tales fan and I have all the comics, limited edition art, etc etc. I NEED the Genesis one!

Nah, turns out I was lying. Why I get these two franchises mixed up is beyond me. Maybe it's the Dinosaurs thing :)

This is the game I was thinking of.

Drat and blast! Knew about that one....good game, but not a C&D one :( *Sniff* Good thing I have the arcade Cadillacs & Dinosaurs coming soon for my collection :D

As for getting those mixed up...for shame Joe! :monkey:

Xenozoic Tales was a Kitchen Sink B&W comic in the 80s, reprinted in the 90s by Topps and by Marvel (separately, renamed Cadillacs & Dinosaurs), with a couple of miniseries spinoffs. Created by Marc Shultz :) Yay!

Dinosaurs for Hire was a Malibu Comics title, and I believe previously another company as well (can't remember). Created by Tom Mason.

Blasphemy to confuse the two! *shakes Fickle Finger of Fate at Joe*
