32X help?

I can't seam to find anything posted on this already, so here goes....

I just got a 32X and it doesn't seem to be working. Here's what I have:
Genesis II with Sega CD II - everthing is working 100% pre-32X installation

I have a 32X with everthing, cables/power supply, etc, EXCEPT 1 metal bracket (the one for the front side of the cart slot).

Here's what happens: I can't play any 32X carts, or regular genesis carts, but the CD 32X games work fine. When I try the carts, sometimes I'll get the "licensed by Sega" screen to flash for a minute, then the screen will go red, blue or black. Pressing reset doesn't do anything... Does anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong? It seems like the 32X part is working, since the CD game works. I tested it with several 32X carts and several known working genesis carts.... Do the pin connectors go bad on these things?

Have you tried it without the Sega CD and just the 32X + Genesis?

No, I haven't, but I will try that tonight. Although I don't see how that would make a difference. I'll also try it on one of my Genesis I's I have.

I just found a 32X article on sonic-cult.org that shows some different things that may be wrong. Looks like I'll be busy tonight...

Mine was doing basically the same thing, it would freeze on the sega logo. I just took it apart and cleaned it out, now it works just fine.

Clean the 32X's cart slot, and clean it's insertion contacts like it's a cart.

That may do it!

Is there a site that shows you how and where to insert the pins? I just got a 32X the other day, and I don't want to get fried!
