View Full Version : Question about buying sealed games (for the game.com system)

I found an ebay auction selling several game.com games at a fairly low price.

Just reciently, I bought a game.com system and 2 games (Lights Out and Duke Nukem 3D) for $15. Since I'm so new to this system, I don't know much about game rarity, pricing, or anything along those lines. If I want to buy those games to play them, should I feel like some sort of gaming criminal if I opened the sealed carts? I don't want to ruin someone's collection or something like that...

You guys seem like knowledgeable collectors...I figured I'd ask you.

First off...6 Game.com carts for $6+ S&H is a steal...go for it if you want to collect for the Game.com. The Game.com is definitely an acquired taste...I like the system, but few others do. Try it...you might like it!! Most games are very common...only Wheel of Fortune 2 and possibly a couple other games are even considered uncommon...

Don't be afraid to open them...games are meant to be played!!

Second of all, welcome to the forums...stay around a while...this is a great community.

And please post here...

wow...thanks! After browsing all the boards, I must say that this is the friendliest message board I have ever visited. This is a great site! There's so much interesting stuff here. I've never seen so many people that have so much more gaming smarts than I do.

I think I'm gonna grab those game.com games. I'll do it in a little while.

Are those some sort of pirate multicart?

I'm too lazy to count but I think he's counting Fighters Megamix as two games, and the Williams Arcade Classics as six games.

That is very much a steal, by the way. :D

Yeah, they counted the separate game on the carts...a little misleading, but a great deal!!

Nope it's not a pirate. It was a legitimate system released by Tiger in the 90's. We've even got a rarity listing for it in the up-coming book. The Arcade Classic pack is similar to the one released on the PSX at the time. Many of the games were Saturn/PSX reincarnates for the small (and fuzzy) screen.

Don't hesitate opening them, you'll see those same titles on eBay all the time so if you wanted to go back and get sealed ones, it's very easy and very cheap to do so. The games that may give you problems are Wheel of Fortune 2, Henry! and Tiger Quiz Wiz. To a lesser extent, Jurassic Park and Monopoly had people trying to outbid me when I was grabbing those.

I have a Game.com and it sucks for action games because the screen blurs, but for card/board games it's pretty good. When I go on long car trips, the Monopoly cart provides some decent entertainment.
