i have nintendo power...i paid for it, but i like the free gifts, so i do a new yearly subscription every year

i also have a subscription to xbox nation.....i got if for free...probably one of those online sign ups and i do like it, so i might resubscribe when this free one ends

This is just about the worst magazine I have ever read. It's good for screenshots, but thats about it. Bad writing styles, not terribly informative, and obviously [too] biased.

Everytime I open up the magazine, is this in one way or another: "HALO IS TEH R0X0RS!!11" Seriously....the game is 2+ years old already, there is nothing new about it, and it really isn't that great anyway. Besides, 90% of the people taht subscribe to that magazine will probably have the game anyway. Stop brining it up.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this subscription, and I doubt I will sign up again if it were free.

I'm not really a fan of XBN myself either, but I hate OXM so much more. Now that magazine is biased.

Every chance they get, they'll just bash a system/system's games and praise Xbox. Annoying as all hell. They might be a Xbox magazine, but that doesn't mean you need to bash on the other consoles. PSM, back in the day, would even recommend other console's games, not be a bunch of immature 13 year olds. *looks at OXM*

i don't understand why everyone hates XBN. I really like it. It has a slick layout, good previews, and interesting articles & news bits (I really enjoyed the one about the guy that had a nervous breakdown during the Japanese DOA tournament). Reminds me of EGM but all Xbox coverage. I think the reviews are totally fair unbiased too. They gave some decent games pretty low review scores, most notable being their Manhunt review. Most mags gave it 7's and 8's but XBN gave it a 5 which I was surprised with.

Like most here, I got my subscription for free but I'll for sure be renewing it once it runs out.

My original subscription to XBN was a paid one, however now I am now on a free renewal. I enjoy reading the magazine, although play is my fave. XBN has a nice layout, interesting features, and the writing is above average. I like it more than I do EGM.

I;ve read XBN, I've also read Nintendo Power...but they are treasures compared to Game Pro. Oh God that magazine used to be so good, now it's just worthless.

It's first party? I thought they had an offical xbox magazine and XBN was a third party mag published by the same people who do egm,gmr ect. In fact i'm almost postive.

As I said I'm recieivng XBN for free, but I doubt I'll sign up once the subscriptions runs out. Nothing against the magazine really it's just that it's rare an XboX game comes out that I'm really that interested in. I do subscribe to Nintendo Power though, I enjoy reading it, and I like the Epic Gamer section and walkthrough portions. along with the little extras they throw in: Stickers, posters, etc. It's not like either magazine really tells me something I don't already know, afterall new games are always announced first and previews are available the soonest online.

Like OPM being garbage also. But at least the Playstation has PSM, which I used to read when I played pS1....It was very fair

I wouldn't think XBN is "first party" when there's the official XBox Magazine as well.

You're right, I was wrong. XBN is published by Ziff Davis (Which doesn't matter, because they publish first party also) but on Xbox.com they reference ONLY OXM.
