View Full Version : Moral Dilema

All right, it aint much of a real dilema, but I have been thinking about it for a while now, and I need some real advice (the stuff i get from my famly dont cut the mustard)
Since I am moving relatively soon, I decided that I would sell off some of the systems and games that i do not play, and I have come down to the few that i am going to rid myself of
These are the systems that i do not play, have not played in ages, do not have games that I really enjoy playing, and are in my posession just for Collecting purposes:
Sega Saturn
Virtual Boy
Atari Jaguar
And about 100 or so games that span across these systems, and a fwe of my others (NES< Genesis, N64...)
My problem is, I really dont know if I want to cut down the collection, as it is already prety small, and does not take up that much space, and I keep thinking how I will get games I like to play, find time to play them, and I kinda like having some conversation pieces
So what does everyone else think about this???
Also, I have two separate Playstation systems, one my brother and I bought when it first came out, and it does not work with Dual Shock controllers (are all 1st issues like this???) and another one I picke dup at a yard sale with the dual shock compatability. I need to cut down to one system, and I dont know whether or not I want to keep the original system I have and have always had, or keep the other one which can use the Dual Shocks....
Oh the realy problems in life eh?

Keep the Jaguar, one controller and Tempest 2000. Chuck the rest of the Jag stuff.
What Saturn stuff do you have?
Can't help on the VBoy never had one...
My 2 cents...

Hold on to Jag. Iron Soldier too.
If owning it doesn't make your life directly better in some way, then you gotta ask yourself, why do you have it?

Where's the moral dilemma?
What you're asking is a pretty typical question that seems to come up in some form once a week. My advice? Keep what you play, keep anything rare or hard to find (until you're sure you want to let it go) and dump the rest of it.

One Controller? Keep two, that game is a blast with two players too!!!

Yes yes.
Actually my brother in law still has a 1000 model that's in perfect working condition after a decade... defying the laws of video gaming as we know it!
On a related note... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T BUY THE PSP!!!! At least not for about 2 years until they fix everything that's going to be wrong with it :P
BTW how many of you heard that Madden 05 isn't working on a ton of PS2s?
30000 and 39000 series I want to say, but I need to check that

I say get rid of it all. If you change your mind after you move you can always replace it.

My advice is to never sell your shit. You will blow through the money and then have no games. You will be pissed, and then have no money again (and no games). I sold all my games many years ago when I made a big mistake and needed some cash fast...it wasn't worth it when all my games were gone and I needed money again very soon after.
Then you will have to sell your body, like I had to. I say sell you body first and keep your games. ;)

I concur.
either get rid of it all....or keep it all....or keep what you play.
3 choices.
Personally I wouldnt get rid of anything Ive collected......I learnt that lesson already.
Im out. 8-)

Personally, I say make sure that you're 100% sure you won't miss this stuff. If you have the time, go back and actually play all the games you're thinking of selling to make sure you won't miss them. If you do decide to sell them, sell them here before ebay. I could use some of that stuff! LOL

If your collection is still small I'd sell what you don't want and put that money towards game's you'll play.

if it's a money issue sell it.
if not, pack it all neatly into a box or two and make it disappear in your closet or attic. i'm sure you'll want to use it sooner or later.

IMHO an unplayed system is a drain on personal resources - especially hen moving all that stuff!. Sell them and put the money in your bank fund. (This is why I sold about 50% of my games/books/movies...played them, beat them, and then they just collected dust. I decided I did not want a bunch of dusty objects lying around.)

Since your moving relatively soon
Pack it all up nice and take it with you..
I wouldn't bother selling anything right now...
But then I'd never sell any of my Collection..
