I have a very odd problem, I installed Painkiller (PC) and it was playing PERFECTLY, full screen (15.4 inch widescreen), no lag, amazing graphics and speed, etc etc.

Now, while loading up the TOWN level, It went from fullscreen down to a screen in the middle of my screen with a black border around it. Seems to lag more and take longer to load and save now. Nothing DRAMATIC such as not being able to play, but it's noticeable. Resolution is (and always was) set at 102X x 7XX (not sure of the exact numbers off hand)

Already tried...

1. Adjusting resolution and other options such as setting the quality all the way to low.

2. uninstalling and reinstalling the game

3. updating drivers.

4. Calling Dreamcatcher, ATI & Dell - no help.

So I'm asking you guys for help, I would like to enjoy it at fullscreen again! Any ideas?

Oh, System specs are

Dell Inspiron 9100 - Win. XP Home Version
Pentium 4 HT Tech 2.8 GHz
ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 - 64 MB
512 MB Ram

Thanks in advance, solve my problem, and I luv u long time! LOL

My friends laptop does that too with games. I am not sure what causes it though. Does it do it with other games? Also there might be a registry string that is scewed up...maybe but it is the only thing I can think off the top of my head. :embarrassed:

looks like I fixed it! It only does that with a few games...but I guess I've figured out the problem now.

Didn't have "enable full panel view" checked under display properties...it was hidden under a button I didn't even know was a button!

Ok, now, off to OD on Painkiller again. :)

I'm surprized you can get Painkiller to look that good with such an outdated card.

I don't think it's "outdated". It's the model Dell is putting in all there top of the line notebooks now.
