I've got some "finals" so I thought I'd share them both for those of you attending CGE next weekend and also for anyone who just likes to support their favorite website AFTER CGE :)

First, you're all familiar with the DP Advance Guide. I'm expecting the first two copies shipped here before I leave for San Jose, the rest are going to the Expo and to our storage in Las Vegas for pre-order fulfillment.

Next, a project that we've been working on for literally more than ten years! We're often asked about back issues to our long-running bi-monthly publication and the compilation, in printable PDF format, is finally available, debuting at CGE:

Another request we get quite often is from the ladies. "When are you going to make a shirt that fits us?" Inspired by the presence of our spokesmodel Janice at CGE2K4 (who felt that the black shirt cutoff wasn't flattering), we've got the DP Baby T, just for the ladies.

Ordering information, including final prices on all of this stuff will be posted after the show here at the site. Just wanted to whet your appetite, the goods are on the way!

Special thanks to my partner Dave Giarrusso for his outstanding graphic design skills. I really believe that our "look" is quite unique and it doesn't take much to notice one of our products any more. Also a big shout out to Scott Stilphen for his tireless scanning of our back issue masters to make that PDF compilation a reality.

Hey Joe...do the girly tees come in any other color than pink? My wife isn't the pink sort....but she'd buy one in another color, like blue for example... :)

Cool stuff. Quick question on the advance guide, will they only be available
at CGE if you pre-ordered?

Hey, I thought the advanced guide was $20, but when I went to paypal to buy it, it says $25... what the?

The book costs $25 (shipped to the US), the pre-order price was $20. The pre-order offer started in March but had to end sometime! With one week before the show I need to give my shipping guy some time to get all of those orders out.

Oh well... I should have got it a couple of days ago... you snooze, you lose!

But I only just found this site on Friday, so you can't blame me for not knowing the price would jump in 2 days!

The main reason I bought the Advance guide was for the Super Famicom section but there is some other stuff there too that I want. Would it be possible to add all the stuff you cut out of the advance guide and make an Import guide? If you do, it would be simple since you are already have most of the material for an Import Guide already. Just a suggestion I hope you follow. :rocker:

Entirely possible. Two things though.

1. It will most likely be free on the 'net, just need some artwork, a little organization, some time to update and edit, and some tweaks.

2. It won't happen until the fall at the earliest. I'm hibernating, playing games and spending time with my family, after CGE :)

I preordered the DPA guide and am picking it up at CGE. Do we need to bring some sort of receipt, or do you already know who we are?

We'll have the pre-order list there.

Significant contributors (those of you who contributed 25+ games' screenshots or won the LORE contest) will have their books shipped right after CGE.

Lots to do!

Is the advance guide going to be available from amazon.com as well?

Is the advance guide going to be available from amazon.com as well?

Indeed. It takes a few weeks to get that all going though. Amazon needs product in hand and some time for things to "clear".

PLUS it works out much better for us to buy from the DP site. Not only do you save on shipping but there's no "commission" paid to amazon for their services. It's a great feature and has brought lots of customers that wouldn't otherwise know such a book existed, but if you know us it's better for everyone to order through us too.

PS I received the first copies of the book today and it looks fabulous. It IS the perfect complement to the red "classic" guide. Our printer was able to emulate almost everything from the last book so the two appear to be twins of different colors. You'll love the way they look on your bookshelf!

We had hoped that Ralph's book would have been available in time for CGE. The original plan was for Ralph to attend the show and sign the book. However, at the last minute we got Rusel DeMaria (High Score) to do all of the internal layout and that delayed the book by several months. The book should now be going to press by the end of the month and should be available by the end of the year.

The book will be 8.5 x 11 in size and contain approximately 260 pages. It will be in full color and will be chock full of Ralph's original notes, memos, schematics, patents, photos, as well as Ralph's first-hand account of how he derived the idea of TV games and how he brought that idea to fruition. Other topics include Ralph's work with Coleco, Odyssey2, Atari, arcade games, Simon, Ralph's video work for the military, and Ralph's dealing with Nolan Bushnell. The book will most likely retail for $30.

So because the book wasn't available in time for CGE, I want to offer a special deal to all CGE attendees. I'm offering the book for $24.00 (20% discount) with free Priority Mail US postage (reduced postage will be available for international orders) PLUS each book will be personally signed by Ralph himself. Books will be shipped as soon as they are available so whoever responds to this offer will be among the first to receive the book.

Special flyers will be available at the show and they will have a coupon to send to me to reserve your copy.

Awesome, Len! Will the flyers be at the entrance, at a booth, or will we have to track you down to get one?

I'm hoping there will be a place at the entrance to place flyers, as in years past. In addition, Mike Thomasson is letting me place them at the Oldergames.com booth where the GoodDealGames games will be sold.
