Just got the new EGM today and while flipping thru it on the can, I saw blurb about a game called "Michigan" in the imports section. Looks like a cross between Silent Hill and Fatal Frame where you play a TV cameraman investigating a weird fog looming over Chicago (what this has to do with Michigan, I don't know). One of the interesting parts of the game is that you can either sit back and film your reporters getting killed, or you can put your camera down and get into the action.
Not a major bit of gaming news, I know, but I thought that since about half of the DP board members are from Michigan (including myself), you'd get a kick out of it. Too bad the game will probably never make it to the States though...I'd really like to play it.

It would be way more realistic if it were about a goth 13 year old girl going around harassing the population of middle aged Dutch women, and scoring bonus points by cow tipping until winter hits and the entire state is incapacitated.

michigan looks like a sweet game, to be honest. Who am I to argue with a horor game that you get to tape deaths?

I also was doing a double-take when I saw the game called "michigan" (All lower caps, go figure) next to a picture of a bloodied reporter fearing for her life. I was wondering if she had headed into Detroit. LOL

Perhaps the lake? I know Chicago is located on a coast (beach?) of it.

I was thinking the lake too.
There's also a Japanese PSX game called "Alabama" but I have no idea what that's about.

Well, looks like you won this thread, congrats!
Is it really close to half of the board? I guess it makes sense, its so goddamned boring here.

Yep. I know Cleveland gets some terrible fog off of Lake Erie. I can only assume that the same can be said for Chicago.
Come to think of it, the eerie game should be based in Cleveland so that its title could be "Erie."
Yeah yeah yeah...

I wrote that article. You're a sweet person for reading it and everything.
I think michigan comes out this week in Japan; I'll be ordering it (along with Suikoden IV and the budget edition of Moji-pittan) in my next ncsx shopping spree.

I wish there would be a game that involved free-roaming around Cleveland.
True Crimes: Streets of Cleveland.
Erie: The Fog Mystery:
You play a young rookie camera man from"Box" 8 news, who is on his first report with veteran reporter "Rick Doddard". Suddenly, an "erie" fog sets over Cleveland, when the monsters attack....
Wait, this sounds like Legend of Legaia.
