NES protos aren't going for too much these days, but that's just crazy. I'd say its because they were listed as prereleases instead of test carts. or maybe people thought it was another one of buyatari's fake auctions to promote that expo :o

Yes, ummm, what? Why would Buyatari try to screw people on fake protos? I thought he was pretty reputable....

Yes, BuyAtari is very reputable and from what I know a very nice guy. I dont believe he held a fake auction and screwed anyone over.


But on a different note does anyone know why BuyAtari is letting go of so much cool stuff? He had an awsome collection but now it seems like he is selling it piece by piece. I mean that proto atari 2000 is freaking awsome.

nobody said he screwed anyone over. not too long ago he put some prototype atari console up for a ton of money (I think it was like 10 grand) and said he'd buy a beer for anyone who bid on it. it was only to promote the expo that he mentions in this auction. there was a couple of threads about it on AA.

man, the least i would do for somebody was buy them a beer if they spent 10k on something i had.

they weren't actually going to pay for it, just bid it up to a lot of money and then the buyer never pays, seller never sends. just to hype the expo and nothing more.
