Also if your lucky enough , I thought I heard certain xbox packages were 50% off at Toys "R" Us. ;)

Well, not to beat you up, but you stand a much better chance of scoring an older system with games than anything currently on the store shelves. Need an Atari 2600, Dreamcast, Sega Genesis, 3DO, etc.? I think there will be several folks willing to help ya.
Need a PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, GBA SP-NES version? Might as well head off to the store, 'cause I don't think anyone's gonna part with their "newest" system just yet.

Son, you need a dictionary "despretly."
As for an XBox, your best bet is probably the previously mentioned Toys R' Us.
Ever considered a used or refurbished system? These can be had in the range of $100-$120. I know Gamespot sells them all the time.
Other than that, watch out for Ebay.

I got my Xbox for $99 I think at a local Pawn Shop, and got them to throw in two games. You might try that route, most of them will let you check it out in the store and will let you return it within a couple of days if you have a problem.
