Looking for help ID'ing an arcade game

Okay, my friend's looking for this one...

it's an earlier fighting game coming from the genres overly gorey period

MK's and such....

WELL they're still gorey they're fighting games

look at it how you will but you know what i mean.


okay the game goes as such (descriptions given by friend)

There was a ninja (OF COURSE!)
Super violent bloody
Bad-ASS
You could cut people directly in half
when people died organs and shit would be flying everywhere
possibly had "ART" in the title somewhere but not the art of fighting
Also. wasn't polygonal like digital people
definately was a coin-op
