View Full Version : Some Ebay help?
Ok....i just want to know if i did this right. I won a bid on a Sega Saturn and 4 games the other day. After I won there was a icon that said "pay now" I clicked it and then put the amount in and then pressed ok. Now when I go to ebay it says under the item I won, "payment pending"? Am I doing this right? Oh...and it was all using Paypal.
Im kinda new to the ebay thing x_x

Yep, sounds like you're doing it correctly to me.
It seems like, for the most part, if you start to screw something up, it will let you know before you go on. Usually if everything goes through smoothly, that means that there were no hangups or anything.
At least that seems to be my experience with all things online shopping.

You might not have gone the whole way through. You need to put in your paypal account information and the like before it's all done.
Well, it said I was already logged in? And it says on my Paypal account under recent activity that i did pay and it says status uncleared? :hmm:

Uncleared payments usually indicate that the source of the funds is a checking account. Therefore the payment will be pending or uncleared untill the funds have been transfered from the checking account into your PayPal account and then to the sellers PayPal acount. At that point the seller will get a notice from PayPal that the funds have cleared and that it is ok to send out your item. You can avoid this wait by associating a credit card with your PayPal account, and make sure that you are sending payments from the card, which is instant. No hassel no extra wait, just sign you life away to PayPal. :D :D

Usually if it is uncleared that means the money is coming from a checking account or some source other than your Paypal balance. If that is the case it usually takes a couple of days to clear but sometime longer. If you view the Paypal transaction details it should say when it is expected to clear.

The same thing happens to me a lot when I use ebay & paypal during high traffic hours. Usually by the next day the "payment pending" has changed to "paid," but sometimes it can take up to 3 days. Your transaction might just be on the the top of the to do pile. I wouldn't worry unless 5 days go by.
5 days havent gone by, but lets just say they do? What should I do then?

Do you have a confirmed address registered to your paypal account? If not, it may just be waiting for the recipient to push accept. Or if you've paid with an eCheck, it may take 3-14 days to clear.
Credit card and some bank transfers can be instant
Alrighty, everything is cool now. Just checked it and everything is cleared! :D
